Toms Eco Lodge where you can escape from the trappings of a gadget prone 21st century and immerse yourself in the great outdoors, green fields , sandy beaches and ancient oak trees of the Isle of Wight. Taking the drive up the country lane to Tapnell Farm, you are literally surrounded by the fields and glorious countryside of the West Wight, with the sea glistening in the background – you know you’re on to a winner!
Get a good night’s sleep on real beds in all of the glamping units. Linen and towels are provided and in all bar the Domes you’ll have your own private toilet and shower/bathroom. Hot tubs are available with most unit types and dogs are welcome in all units apart from the cabins.
Large families will enjoy the Safari tents with toasty log burning stoves and hot tubs, sleeping 6+2, inside you'll find two bedrooms (one double and one bunk) a double cabin bed (all with electric blankets), a spacious living dining area, including a double sofa bed and wood burning stove, fitted shower and flushing wc, and a kitchen with a Belfast sink. Yes maybe this is more like a canvas cottage than camping but it’s a fantastic way to give the family the experience of life under canvas without missing out on our beloved creature comforts. The safari tents enjoy sea views both north and west, surrounding the glorious rolling landscape of the Island. Each tent is perfect for a family of up to eight with the use of the additional sofa bed in the lounge (surcharge applies). Rustic dining table and chairs form the central piece for each lovingly made meal. Comfy sofas make the perfect space to relax or play a board/card game together. There is also a decked area to sit back and relax on, and a grassy glade to play and bbq in. For an extra bit of luxury, two of the Tents boast a decadent wood burning hot tub. The scenic vista is spectacular all around, from watching the sunset over the horizon to star gazing on a crystal clear night.
Modulogs are unique to Tom’s Eco Lodge and sleep 4+2 and have their own private wood fired hot tubs for 2. Domes also have room for 4+2 and are perfect for stargazing through the viewing window in the roof, and have private shower and toilet facilities in the new washroom block complete with underfloor heating.
Cabins sleep up to 8+2 guests in three bedrooms and an additional double sofa bed if required (surcharge applies). There is one double, one twin and one with 2 bunk beds (4 singles). Each room at the front of the cabin looks out to breathtaking views across the West Wight towards the famous Tennyson Downs, Monument and Freshwater Bay. The cabins also have a family bathroom and shower room, an open plan living area, fully equipped kitchen and two comfy sofas (one can be made into a sofa bed). There's a deck at the front of each cabin with a bbq and seating area, offering a great space to sit out in the sun and to admire the views and tranquility of the farm. One of the cabins also has a wood burning hot tub.
The creatively designed 'pods' are perfect for a small family of 4, as in addition to the double bed, the sofa bed can accommodate another 2 if required (surcharge applies). The open plan space is light and airy with Velux roof lights and opening window. Each Wigwam has breathtaking sea views across the rural countryside, including a sunny decked area including bbq and outdoor seating.They are fully insulated as well as centrally heated with their own mini kitchen and also hot shower and flushing wc.
