The Alchemy restaurant unfortunately is closed until further notice but if you would like a change of scenery there are plenty of family friendly restaurants in the area that reception are only too happy to advise.
There are a number of family rooms available especially designed for families of up to 4 (with room for a cot) which include two queen size double beds and a spacious feel that makes family living easier. If your children are under 12, they can stay and eat free, as long as there are two adults sharing a room with them. Children under 16 can also stay for free with parents and are only charged for any meals taken. With luxury toiletries in the bathroom, soft fluffy bathrobes, and a pillow menu (oh yes- hard, soft or al dente!) after an exhausting day, winding down and sleep should be easy peaszzzz...
Baby needs a night time bottle? No problem, bottle warmers together with changing mats can be provided to make sure even the youngest of needs are well catered for. And if you do have the odd hour to fill before venturing out on that sightseeing tour, don't forget there is the heated indoor swimming pool for a quick splash around in or fully equipped Gymnasium for an even quicker work out! Kids have access to the DVD library free of charge. Great to re-coup and chill out with at the end of the day! There is also free Wi-Fi internet access and free local calls for those of you that feel the need to stay connected.
While sightseeing the 'City of Discovery' you'll find that Dundee has numerous family attractions to explore. Camperdown Country Park is the largest public park in Dundee. Home to no fewer than 190 species of trees it is a haven for wildlife. The adventure playground, boating, putting or the Wildlife Centre will keep the family entertained for hours. Broughty Castle has magnificent views over the river Tay, and is only minutes away from Broughty Ferry Beach and Esplanade. It offers something for everyone, with a changing programme of events, activities and displays. At Discovery Point you can climb aboard Captain Scott's ship RRS Discovery where you will follow in the footsteps of him and his crew, see how they lived, what they ate and witness their hardships and their triumphs on their voyage to Antarctica. HM Frigate Unicorn is moored on the south side of the dock and is the oldest British-built warship still afloat, and one of only six ships still surviving built before 1850 anywhere in the world.
