Bucks Farm provides perfectly for a relaxed family holiday. The 4 barns have been beautifully converted to provide you with every modern convenience in your get-away from it all setting. Each has central heating with the added benefit of a wood-burner for cosy nights in during the chillier months as well as a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) and tv, video and hi-fi. During the winter months a free basket of logs is provided for you to light the wood-burner; further baskets are charged at cost. For those who just find it too hard to switch off completely Jo and Ian have provided all cottages with wi-fi access which is free of charge.
Set around a court-yard all of the cottages have French windows leading from the lounge to your own private terrace, complete with furniture and barbeque to appreciate the wonderful south-facing views (fingers-crossed for sun) across the Blyth Valley so that you can sit and enjoy the scenery whilst taking 5 minutes out (or maybe 2 depending on how demanding your tribe might be!).
A fabulous facility to ensure daily activity should the weather do a down turn is the heated indoor swimming pool which has been fitted with the latest dehumidification system to create the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing swim. Should the sun be shining there are patio doors leading to a sheltered sun terrace. The pool is open every day from 8.00am to 12.00 noon and 3.00pm to 6.00pm. Extra sessions in the swimming pool can usually be arranged on arrival.
A fab games room plays host to table tennis, a small snooker table, children's toys, including ride-ons, an important sofa and a tv with videos and DVD's - always a bonus for quiet time as I am sure you are aware. The well-equipped gym provides for the adults.
Outdoors there's a large lawn for spontaneous games, nearby paddocks to admire the animals including sheep, chickens, ducks and goats, a donkey, rabbits and guinea-pigs and egg collecting to get you all out of the bed in the morning.
Jo and Ian provide high chairs, cots and stair gates if required. There are also 2 camp beds to provide extra capacity in the cottages should you want to cram any extra school friends in.
As mentioned above the nearest village is just 1.5 miles away. Should you want to escape for the evening baby-sitting can be arranged at an additional charge.
Cottages accommodate from 2 (+ sofa bed sleeping 2) up to 6. Bookings are usually on a weekly basis, but Short Breaks are also available throughout the winter and occasionally during the summer. Three-night breaks are charged at 65% of the weekly rate.
Please note that all of the cottages and the outside courtyard are non-smoking.
