From the comfort of the living room you can enjoy high tech gadgets such as a flat-screen television with in-built DVD player and a dock to plug in your i-Pod. Every kitchen features either oak unit doors or worktops and is fully equipped with a stainless steel range cooker or built-in hob, oven and extractor, stainless steel twin bowl sinks with chrome monobloc taps, and every utensil an aspiring chef might require. For chefs who would like a night off, the award-winning delicatessen and independent grocer, Tully's of Rothbury, can deliver food and beverages, including organic ready-to-eat meals, direct to all the holiday cottages at Burnfoot. As for the bedrooms, every master bed has an extra-thick luxury mattress to help you enjoy the best night's sleep you've ever had. All bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and logs are included in the rent.
There is a large designated play area for children where they can run off steam and enjoy outdoor games safely in the grounds. Although there are steams in the area these cannot be accessed without scaling a wall or stile. Burnfoot is truly a special place to discover Mother Nature at her best. As well as feeding ponies children's love of animals can be inspired by the wildlife easily spotted in nearby proximity to the cottages - from otters and kingfishers to badgers and owls and numerous species in between. There is use of a new tennis court for all guests to enjoy.
You may simply want to relax, stay put and appreciate your surroundings however there are a range of activities to suit all ages. From the steading you can try pony trekking; cycling along the off-road Pennine Cycleway; or walking - a footpath leads directly to the Cheviots. Close by are an 18 hole golf course and renowned trout and salmon fishing. Less strenuous pursuits include spending lazy days enjoying the endless, golden beaches of the Northumbrian coast.
