If you are lucky enough to stay at this beautiful hotel you can rest assured it will be a family break to cherish and memories of it will last a lifetime. Not only is Chewton Glen an award winning hotel with wonderful Spa facilities (amongst others) AND warmly welcoming of children of any age, its location is spot on too. Set in 130 acres of Hampshire countryside on the edge of the New Forest National Park and just a few minutes' walk from the sea, you will never be short of things to do as there are numerous family days out in the surrounding area. That is if you can first tear yourself away from the luxurious trappings of Chewton Glen.
Families staying at Chewton Glen will reside in one of the 58 bedrooms and suites, each individual in style and decorated to provide the comfort and luxury befitting of a 5 star hotel. Most accommodation at Chewton Glen has a terrace, balcony or private garden.
For any budding Tiger Woods the hotel has its own 900+ yard, 9-hole, par 3 golf course which is open from 10.00am every day, weather permitting. In addition there is a golf practice area. It is a beautifully maintained course, including some challenging water hazards to navigate over. If swimming is more your bag then Chewton Glen has a heated outdoor pool open in the summer months or a 17 metre indoor pool that has dedicated swim times for families (every day: 09.00am to 10.30am and 16.00pm to 17.00pm). Families are spoilt for choice with sports facilities as in the hotel grounds there is a dedicated tennis centre, which is among the finest tennis facilities in Hampshire. The tennis centre includes two indoor and two outdoor tennis courts and on-site tennis professional. Don't worry if you forget your racquets as adult size and children's can be hired.
All this plus not forgetting the beaches, forest walks, pony treks, and cycling adventures to be enjoyed. One of the lesser known walks and a must for any visit to Chewton Glen is the walk through the grounds to the sea. Enjoy an approximate 1km stroll through the grounds, via a picturesque scenic wooded path right out onto the sea front at Highcliffe-On-Sea. Mountain Bikes for all the family including a trailer for the very little ones can be found parked up in the cycle racks. A great way for some family bonding in the summer months is a spot of croquet on the lawns in front of the bar terrace.
During the School Holidays there is a fun Children's Club room available in the morning and the afternoon for some supervised fun with painting and puzzles, train sets and story time, board games, toys, painting, children's videos, DVD's, Play station and much more.
Whilst the kids are amused and happy, Mum and Dad can take the opportunity to spend a little time to indulge some well earned me-time in the spa. The spa facilities are top class and include a hydrotherapy pool, grooming lounge, ten treatment rooms, steam room, sauna, indoor swimming pool and a state-of-the-art gymnasium with personal training available. Should you wish to partake in an exercise class there is a daily programme available to choose from including Aqua exercise, Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga.
A special Children's menu is available for younger guests. Breakfast and Lunch are served in the main restaurant and high chairs are readily available for families. Supper if taken in the restaurant for children up to the age of 4 years is from 18.00 to 19.00pm (last orders 19.00pm). If parents wish to dine with their young children at this stage please note the Lounge Menu is available. After 20.00pm, children of 5 years old and above may dine with their families at leisure in the main restaurant. Complimentary food and drink is available throughout your stay for children aged under 5. Alternatively there is a full 24 hour room service menu available for in-room dining.
