If you have not tried camping before this is the site for first timers.
The campsite is set within the grounds of Clippesby Hall across 30 acres of a wooded country setting . It is made up of 8 different camping/touring areas all with their own distinctive features and spacious pitches. The toilet facilities have been upgraded to a very good standard with a family bathroom also available. Baby baths are there to borrow free of charge from reception. Baby changing facilities are available in both the shower blocks and in the family restaurant. There is a launderette with washing machines, tumble driers and ironing facilities available free of charge.
On site facilities include, family friendly bar & restaurant, coffee shop (serving thick shakes -yum,yum!!), books and colouring sheets are available from reception, games room and wildlife centre - which will show children's films on wet days, heated outdoor swimming pool with toddlers splash pool, outdoor play area, tree house, family golf and cycle hire which includes both tag-a-longs and trailers for little ones not yet able to manage on their own. The local area is ideal for family cycle rides - quiet country lanes with little traffic. There is fantastic family entertainment on a Tuesday evening with a family disco and a children's party night on a Friday.
Whilst you are welcome to bring your pets, Clippesby are aware that some children do not like them and so they provide a ‘dog free' area in the Pinewoods. There is a beach nearby - Winterton-on-sea (5 miles). It is sandy with gentle slopes great for paddling. Great Yarmouth is 7.5 miles which is a big seaside resort with lots of entertainment for the kids.
Camp site opens from 1st April to end October. Arrival time: 2-5pm Departure time: 11am. Advanced booking is advisable in school holidays.
