At Clydey the charm and character of old Pembrokeshire farm buildings has been retained with wooden beams, log burning fires and traditional furnishings. One, two, three and four bed roomed cottages can sleep from 2 - 10 guests in comfort. Clydey is also a great place to enjoy a family get-together with cottages booked together accommodating parties of up to 45. Well equipped and immaculately furnished with everything to make your stay comfortable from the super-sized beds, steaming power showers and the latest flat screen TV's, satellite channels, DVD's, free WiFi and iPod docks, you will enjoy a true home from home experience. Wooden garden furniture and barbecues can be found with every cottage to enjoy barmy summer evenings. Towels and bed linen are provided with beds made up for your arrival but please bring your own swimming towels. You will find lots of thoughtful touches like child friendly crockery and cutlery to avoid stressful dining. Cots, highchairs and stairgates are available upon request. Toddlers toys, free DVD, books and board games can be borrowed to occupy a spare moment. Take advantage of the pre-arranged grocery service which can be delivered to your cottage prior to arrival. There is disabled access in Tansy cottage which has two bedrooms and can sleep 4 people plus a cot.
The children's play area will occupy even the most active of little ones with rope swings, sandpit and climbing frames and the spacious lawns are perfect for football cricket, badminton and carefree play. Savour a morning read with the newspaper whilst the little ones trundle off and feed the animals for half an hour. With the resident pigs, sheep, ponies and chickens makes it a big hit with the children. You never know, they may return bearing gifts - a freshly laid egg for breakfast.
Staying at Clydey is not just geared towards children as you can indulge yourself with a treatment from one of the qualified therapists. All in the comfort and privacy of your own cottage, at a time to suit you. Choose between relaxing aromatherapy massage, reflexology or beauty treatment. What better way to start the day than a relaxing swim in a state-of-the-art heated indoor swimming pool with sweeping views of the magnificent local scenery. For the actively inclined the appeal of Clydey Country Cottages doesn't end there, as guests have access to a modern gym, with similarly impressive views, and a games room complete with Table Tennis, Table Football and Air Hockey. There's plenty of opportunity for taking it easy too, with a lovely sun terrace and the latest entertainment technology available on hand.
Babies and toddlers are not forgotten with the sandpit, ride-on toys, baby swing and pre-school toys in the games room. And the playpen on the pool side keeps little ones safe whilst mum and Dad enjoy a relaxing swim. A babysitting service can also be arranged.
The 20 acres of shared grounds include landscaped lawns, wild flower meadows and a woodland walk by a small river. In fact there's plenty of spellbinding walks and nature trails to enjoy in the local area, and Britain's only coastal national park is just a few miles away.

Clydey is situated somewhere, where - I couldn't tell you, even the satnav couldn't tell you describing the road leading to it as "road". But that is just the first thing that makes this cottage getaway so great.
We had a fantastic week with our 18mo son, the highlights were everything - the heated indoor swimming pool with woggles, floats and pool toys provided, the small but lovely sauna next to the pool, the games room, the soft play area which was so nice to have something dedicated to little children and comfty couches for mum and dad to relax, the outside hottub for a grown up dip (although kids are allowed in during school holidays) and best of all the daily animal feeding and egg collecting.
We stayed in Lavender Cottage which was small but adequate for the three of us, the bedroom was a decent size even with the cot in. Good power shower and a nice bath. Shared BBQ's are available to use outside your cottage. Lots of other facilities including - washing machines/dryers, frozen meals from COOK, free eggs, toddler carrying backpacks, ride on toys, sand pit, playground. I'm sure I've forgotted other things as well.
Local beaches of Poppit Sands and Mwnt are stunning - couldn't believe we were in the UK, especially when we saw dolphins swimming in the bay at Mwnt.
Lovely restaurant about 40 mins drive away, Y Polyn, and you can book babysitters although it is expensive at £10ph. DVDs, board games and books can be borrowed from the Games Room so no need to really go out.
All in all, a fantastic, friendly, relaxing break and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Have just come back from a fantastic week at Clydey cottages. The location is stunning, the cottage (we stayed in Jasmine) was cosy, clean and well equiped and the facilties were perfect for our children aged 10 and 8 but would be a real winner with toddlers too. Our children spent hours enjoying the pool and playing in the games room and play area but the highlight of every day was feeding the pigs, sheep, ponies and chickens and collecting the fresh warm eggs. The hot tub was also very enjoyable, positioned to make the most of the beautiful views. There was lots to do in the area and a fantastic local family pub selling great food. Overall we were very impressed it really is a hidden gem.
