The hotel buzzes with energy as there is so very much to do day and night. There are over 60 on site activities to choose from including the heated indoor swimming pool, the kids pool, tennis, 5-a-side, croquet, bowling, horse-riding, mountain or tandem biking (available for hire) putting greens and giant chess-boards. And all that is before the mention of the outdoor activity centre. With the chance to go quad biking across 50 acres or off-roading in the gravel quarry even the big kids have something to thrill them! Less energetic past-times include archery and air-rifle At Culcrieff, High and Low Rope Courses are available. The Low Ropes are perfect for the all of the family, accommodating any ability; the High Ropes might just spur the parental competitive streak into action. Lessons are available – booking is advised.
Should this stuff fill you with horror the Victorian Spa provides a fabulously calm and indulgent atmosphere away from the excitement beyond. A Sauna, Steam Room and Spa Bath are provided for adults to unwind as well as poolside loungers should you want to just switch off.
If the weather close in BIG Country, the new 700 square metre child care facility, offers heaps of activities and facilities for children of all ages. There is an adventure castle with a trampoline, climbing ropes, slide and ball pools, a new purpose built under 2s crèche facility, a new adventure play area accessible to parents and children, a child friendly multi media centre and access to a theatre for you all to practice those karaoke and dance routines.
Children staying at the Hydro, aged between 2-12 years, are entitled to two inclusive childcare sessions each day of their stay choosing between morning, afternoon or evening time slots. This gives parents the ideal opportunity to partake of the grown up facilities or just enjoy some quiet time. The BIG Country crèche offers supervised child-care for children under the age of 2 years and is available at an additional supplement.

There are four places to eat on site. For meals the Meikle Restaurant is the formal dining option within the hotel if you choose to dine alone; the Brasserie provides for informal dining for all of the family to appreciate. The Winter Garden coffee shop is perfect for coffee and light meals whilst the Hub has light lunches and snacks and houses the bar.
