The award-winning Easton Farm Park is a dream come true for animal loving children - adults too. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Deben river valley and within an easy drive to the coast, these child-friendly cottages provide the perfect base for the fun and adventure to be had. With lovely views across the farm land or river and amidst this lovely countryside you will not find it difficult to wind down.
And not only do you get fabulous family accommodation; fantastically the attractions at the farm are available to you during opening hours. Oh joy of joys that means egg collecting, meeting, feeding and sometimes holding the farm animals, admiring the gorgeous pygmy goats (we are getting some after one of our farm stays - beware!), riding a pony, pig racing! or partaking of organised craft activities of which you get to walk away without having to hoover up the glitter! There is a fabulous outdoor adventure playground for when the kids wish to just get on with it.
There are three cottages located on the farm; one lies on the edge of the farm park (Sanctuary) with a short walk to the main attractions, the two others are central. All are tastefully and simply furnished (a blessing), are fully equipped to ensure that you have a real break with dishwasher, laundry facilities, microwave, fridge/freezer, TV with freeview and DVD and all have enough space for you to be comfortable. A BBQ is available for when you get the chance to eat al fresco. The lovely gift of cakes, biscuits, fruit juice and wine on arrival makes for a very good start to your holiday.
Two of the cottages sleep up to five, the other (Duke Cottage) sleeps six. Additional pull out beds suitable for children are available if required, as are travel cots, highchairs and stair-gates. Plastic plates and cups and mini-table and chairs are provided for independent dining. All bed-linen and towels are provided.
I like the simple things in life - there are beautiful walks down to the river Deben where you might take a picnic and play I spy looking for barn owls, kingfishers, otters, water voles, herons, deer and for the enthusiasts even a corn crake (though I wouldn't know one if it hit me).
Should the weather close in several big barns are available to take cover in where you might determinedly enjoy a picnic. Otherwise the 'Go Barmy' Barn - the indoor play centre for under 10s - has a safe toddler section, big play area, indoor electric tractors, TV & WiFi for parents and some delicious healthy food & drinks. You could even make a ritual of visiting the Riverside Café for a cappuccino or hot chocolate or maybe a delicious lunch or cream tea by the water.
In the evening the local village pub is within wandering distance giving you the perfect opportunity to escape the cooking, otherwise you could just switch off and listen to the sounds of nature knowing that tomorrow you don't have to worry about what to do!
All properties are non-smoking.
The cottages are available for weekly bookings from 4pm on the Friday of arrival until 10am on the Friday of departure. Weekend breaks and mid-week breaks may also be booked during low & mid-season.
