They naturally include the basics of a DVD player and cable/satellite TV because, as much as we may want to dissuade our kids from watching, it's a useful tool to have!
This is an incredibly child-friendly hotel - the children's amenities are simply incredible and the list of outdoor activities too long to mention - look at the May Activities Offer and you'll see what I mean; tennis camps, scurry driving, sorcerers school, bicycle treasure hunt, and they are on top of the ‘everyday' facilities available to children like The Playroom where young children are looked after and occupied with exciting games and creative play. Older kids get to hang out in The Zone where computer games, pool, table football matches and karaoke duets on the Sony SingStar® are waiting to entice them into action. It's a lively atmosphere to be a part of!
There are several places to eat. Be assured that, as Gleneagles has an international reputation for excellent cuisine and fine dining, the finest fresh produce available locally in Perthshire and Scotland is used, as well as from specialist suppliers around the world. If dining with the children you may choose to eat in either The Strathearn, a grand restaurant serving the finest Scottish dishes, or Deseo where Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed, informal environment is served - both have delicious children's food.
For adults The Bar, found at the heart of the hotel serves morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea with all the trimmings. Aperitifs are served early evening; it's also a good spot for a night cap late on! Room service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, giving you the option to enjoy a meal in the privacy of your own room.
Andrew Fairlie, a two Michelin-starred restaurant, could be the venue for that rare treat - the parent's evening out; cuisine is described as ‘unashamedly French with a Scottish twist'. Babysitting services can be pre- arranged meaning you can grab yourselves a relaxing evening before the next day's strenuous activities. Unless that is you booked yourself into the spa - I think that is where you might find me!
