Knowle Farm set in 44 acres of South Devon countryside offers six beautifully converted barns overlooking wonderful farmland views. The cottages, all non smoking, sleep from two to eight plus cots. The standard of each of the cottages is excellent, with simple but tasteful décor and furnishings. They are well equipped and provide families with everything they may need including : wood burning stove, automatic washing machine and tumble dryer, electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, iron, widescreen colour T.V.(with children's TV channels CBBC and Cbeebies ), VCR & DVD player, CD/Radio, wireless internet access, linen, duvets and a stair gate. A booster seat is provided in each cottage and high chairs and cots are available on request - ask when booking. Some cottages also have their own dishwasher. There is an option to hire towels which are for use in cottage only but please bring your own cot bedding if needed.
The fantastic thing about Knowle Farm is the closeness with which you are able to get to the animals. Open your cottage door and the chickens and ducks will be waiting for your children to feed them. They spend their days roaming around the cottages. There are cute pigs and super soft rabbits that you will have the opportunity to stroke. In fact if you have kids like mine you can bet you are going to be pestered all the way home for a pet of sorts - lets just hope it's not the alpacas they fall in love with. In addition to the sheep and donkey there is a friendly pony, cats, a dog and of course not forgetting the proud peacock. Your children will have the chance to help feed them all and within the course of the week will have remembered each and every name. This is Knowle Farm - a paradise for little children and animal lovers alike.
Many facilities are provided for families including :- indoor heated pool , indoor soft play area purpose built for children aged five and under, outdoor tennis court , pool table, table tennis, outdoors wooden play fort, enclosed outdoor play area for little ones with sand pit, playhouse and toys. Take the opportunity to brush up on your swimming technique in Knowle Farms own swimming pool. Thirty minute lessons are available for you or your children (aged 2+) by a qualified Amateur Swimming Association teacher who lives locally and is a Fellow of the Institute of Swimming Teachers and Coaches.
Enjoy 44 acres of beautiful countryside with woodland and riverside walks to explore. Or you can simply relax and watch the animals and wildlife around the pond. If fishing is your bag then try to catch some trout - the river may be narrow but they have been caught - even with fly. Better still there is a local fishery in Rattery for serious anglers. Barbecues are available in season along with outdoor furniture - you can pick your spot to eat, looking out over the pond or down by the river. There is an excellent 11th century local village pub offering lunch and evening meals - children welcome.
