Natural Retreats Castlemartyr, County Cork is a world class 5 star resort located in the South East of Ireland in Cork, has become known as one of the finest luxury destination resorts in Ireland. Nestled amid Cork's most picturesque woodlands, Castlemartyr is a breathtaking destination richly steeped in Emerald Isle history and tradition. There are 42 lodges located in a mature landscape with views of the golf course and the parkland which are plentiful. One of the world's oldest trees, the 'Cork Tree' is also situated in the walled garden area.
Step inside the stylish and decadent lodges that are bathed in natural light and you will get use to grinning like a Cheshire cat. It is hard not to feel gleeful and skip from room to room knowing that this is your abode for the next few days. The whole residence promotes a feeling of space making it easy and very accessible to holiday as a family. Each lodge has been decorated and furnished to the highest standards and specification with car parking facilities available directly outside. On arrival at a Castlemartyr, families receive a luxury welcome hamper packed full of local produce to ensure that you don't have to worry about an empty fridge.
The entrance hall includes storage for golf clubs, clothes and shoes, as well as a separate cloakroom with WC and wash-hand basin. All floors are wooden with the exceptions of the kitchen and bathrooms which are tiled. The inner door leads into the bright and spacious open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. The open plan staircase leads to a bright landing area from which there are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king size bed, wardrobe and dressing table. All rooms have LCD TV and ensuite bathroom with bath or shower. The third bedroom is located in the ground floor of the lodge, again with ensuite. These Lodges are no doubt a home away from home.
Guests are also free to enjoy the leisure, spa facilities adjacent to the lodges of which there are plenty. Castlemartyr Golf Club is an 18 hole, championship,inland links course designed by Ron Kirby. The 18 hole golf course is available for residents to play at a charge of €45 per round from May through to September. Or prepare to be spoilt with a blissful body or facial treatment at the Spa at Castlemartyr which includes 9 private treatment rooms, nail salon, fitness centre including a yoga and fitness studio, ozone-treated pool, jet pool, spacious wet treatment areas with separate sauna and steam rooms. Whilst staying at Castlemartyr a highlight must be the Carriage Tours (daily from 9am to 1pm), where you get to tour around the estate by horse and carriage. Kids will love the Pony and Trap Special Tour and will remember it as an extra special treat - a 60 minute tour in which Roy teaches the children how to steer the ponies and they may also help Roy in the Stables afterwards (up to 4 children at one time) €60.
