North Bradbury Farm, Devon
North Bradbury Farm, Chittlehampton, North Devon

The Wilsons have provided a really fun, happy and safe place to be and that is what family holidays are all about. Enjoy yourselves.
North Bradbury Farm sets out to provide you all with a truly memorable, happy family time. It's child-friendly cottage at it's best! From not having to worry about Polly poking stuff in the plug sockets, or falling out of the windows, to the availability of fresh food from the farm shop, home-cooked evening meals, so you don't have to, and fab under-floor heating and electric wood burner for cosy evenings in! Tracey has made sure you can relax both indoors and outdoors by providing all the little things that make a HUGE difference - particularly when you have roaming, curious toddlers.
You really don't have to pack the boot up to the hilt. Towels are provided, big fluffy duvets, high chairs and cots available by arrangement, DVDs, plug covers (as mentioned above), window catches (ditto), games, CD player - for the nursery rhyme DVD (after a weekend at my sister's I would rather never hear another again) - or High School Musical (worse?). There is a Freeview box for emergencies and video and DVD player. Wi-fi provides for the internet dependents! Laundry facilities are available externally so you can get all the washing done before you leave for home whilst the rest of the family enjoy the farm (mmmm - did I say something wrong?).
The 'upside-down' properties were converted from the former 17th century stables and barn and retain a wealth of original features (parts of the wooden cider press remain in The Cider Barn). The Cider Barn comprises a double bedroom, bathroom and toilet downstairs, half landing to fully-equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, kitchen / dining room with stairs leading to the spacious first floor living room with bed settee - stair gates are available.
The Stables has a double and a twin bedroom and bathroom downstairs with stairs leading up to a large open-plan fully-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, a dining area, the living-room, containing a double bed settee, and an upstairs toilet. There is a connecting door upstairs which allows large groups to let both properties together (max. 10 persons).
Outside each has a decked area to sit out and enjoy your surroundings - there are stunning views over the River Mole Valley and you're ` south facing so you may even catch some of those precious sun rays! Depending on time of day you could decide to retire in anticipation of the next full on day or start off on a breakfast egg hunt courtesy of the free-range chickens and ducks. Alternatively have a ‘spot the farm animal' competition - Jacob sheep, pigs, goats, cats, dogs and horses abound - the kids will have a fabulous time being mini-farmers collecting eggs and feeding the animals - they may even have the opportunity to ride one of the horses - just don't forget the wellies.
When the animals need respite there are lots of things for the children to enjoy. The fantastic heated outdoor pool is a massive treat and incredibly indulgent considering there aren't going to be tons of others sharing it with you! There's also a trampoline, sandpit, playhouse, slide, swing, and ride on toys as well as a games room with football table and air hockey.
What you don't get every day are 10 acres of farm land to explore and burn off the energy sufficiently to ensure a sound sleep (for little ones not you!) and hopefully grab some grown up time at the end of the day. Baby-sitting can be arranged should you feel like a trip out to the local pub just 1½ miles away. Alternatively you can arrange to ‘dine out' in the farmhouse dining room and have a wholesome meal freshly prepared for you and clock up zero food miles virtually.
What else? There's an outdoor storage for cycles and muddy wellies & buggies; a duck pond to enjoy - fenced off of course; a farm walk straight from the doorstep; a fully enclosed garden, fishing on the River Taw, clay pigeon shooting and golf to enjoy. If you want to see what's around the farm is just a ten minute drive from the North Devon Link Road giving you ease to explore and enjoy Exmoor and the North Devon Coast with all its attractions.
