It’s extremely hard to come up with a unique description for Tresanton – the Hotel is practically an institution if ever such a wonderful place could be described as such – and it probably should not! Moonfleet Manor is to be found through two old weathered columns at the end of a long, long lane. Hidden away, it is blessed with a wondrous view overlooking Lyme Bay and the world’s longest stretch of shingle beach – Chesil Beach. We found it on a warm, sunny Spring day, buzzing with people and atmosphere. As with all of the Luxury Family Hotels a line of wellies, in all colours and sizes, greet you at the door before the smiley staff (who looked happy to be working!) and the very friendly live-in dog Spicer (who has since gone I’m sad to say) that greeted the girls with a fantastic tail wagging display that delighted them.

Charlton Farm Cottage is a delightful 2 bedroom self catering cottage based on a family farm in Radstock, Somerset. Charlton Farm is the home of genuinely warm and friendly owners Anthony & Ness Dutton. With a young family themselves they have drawn on their own experiences and created an environment that is highly child friendly with plenty of tame farmyard animals to entertain children. The garden leads into the sheep field and then on into 'Snails Bottom' - a beautiful valley with a shallow stream that children can paddle in and along which you can walk for as long as you can manage. Within 20 minutes of Bath, Wells and Bradford-on-Avon.
