Renvyle House is a beautiful retreat for families to visit at any time of the year.  The location, to begin with, is absolutely stunning. You will find Renvyle House on the west coast of Ireland, nestled by the shores of the Atlantic Ocean with the spectacular mountain range of Connemara in full view. With beautiful grounds and beaches to explore you will feel privileged to visit such an amazing place. Take advantage of this beautiful setting by partaking in some of the numerous outdoor leisure facilities available to guests including golf, tennis, swimming, boating, fly-fishing, snooker, boating, fishing, lawn bowls, archery, croquet and clay pigeon shooting. There are designated cycling routes around the hotel that are safe for you to bring your children. Bicycles are provided by Renvyle House as are helmets and high-visibility vests. Although the roads are narrow they are generally quiet and it's a great way to get to the beach or explore further afield for a morning or afternoon.

Step inside Renvyle House and not only will your family be warmly welcomed by the dedicated and friendly staff but you will be bowled over by the charm, history and relaxing atmosphere that oozes from within. There are featured wooden beams throughout, rug strewn floors and open fires - and a snug conservatory.  Renvyle House has played host to many famous people - Augustus John, Lady Gregory, Yeats and Churchill among them. Children have also been looked after at Renvyle House for generations where they are not just catered for, they are positively encouraged. The little ones can start their days' adventures by feeding the ducks and geese with their leftover crusts from breakfast. A traditional wooden playhouse and surrounding play area gives children the space to run off steam.  

Whilst bar lunches and light meals in the conservatory are very enjoyable during the day, dinner at Renyle House is an occasion to be savoured. The large dining room is adjacent to a supervised playroom and children can be viewed through the internal window between the two.  Together with the convenient earlier sitting for children's High Tea, enables parents with a rare chance to sit down, relax and enjoy the culinary skills of the Head Chef without having to worry about the kids eating habits.  The Award-Winning cuisine of Renvyle House is based on fresh local produce - notably Connemara lamb, game and fresh fish. Menus appeal to all appetites with a wine cellar to match. A pianist at the grand piano every night adds to the sense of occasion whilst a glass of Cognac and a warm turf fire is all you need to complete a memorable dining experience.

There are a number of family suites and rooms available which can cater up to a family of X. Under 2s are free in parents' room and cots are available without charge. Babysitting can be arranged by request or if you have the chance to settle the kids at night and fancy a tipple at the bar, there is a room listening service monitored by reception. During busier holiday periods a supervised play area is organised after tea with arts and crafts, games, story-telling, singing and films. The family dog may also be permitted by prior arrangement.

The Billiard Room is a great retreat and guests can test their skills. Renvyle House has a good selection of board games for adults and children alike which can be played in any of the common rooms. Instructor Anette gives three Yoga classes a week and these are suitable for all the family from children to grandparents and have proven popular. These classes are provided free of charge to guests at the hotel.

Being situated on the Connemara Loop there are numerous activities and places to see nearby. Some of these include the Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, a trip on board a glass bottom boat in Ballinakill, a cruise on the Killary Fjord, a scuba dive centre, equestrian centres and numerous walks and beautiful beaches. Killlary Adventure Centre has teamed up with Renvyle House to offer children a morning of activities on their zip-wire, high ropes or other activities.
