Dating from 1890 The Old Gallery was originally built as a picture gallery for a large private art collection. It has now been carefully fitted out gaining the prestigious Five Star rating from the Tourist Board inspectors. The décor perfectly compliments the period features of this wonderful building. The Old Gallery has an impressive balcony (with handrail protection for children) overlooking the lounge with its high ceiling. The original, superb, marble Victorian fireplace has been fully restored and houses the latest design living flame gas fire for convenience. The dining area is open plan with views out of the gates onto the moor. The kitchen is fully equipped including family sized fridge freezer, fan oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washing machine/ tumble dryer and ground floor, wheelchair access bathroom. There are two entrances, one of which is ramped.
You'll have multi-channel cable TV with iPlayer, Virgin Media catch-up and downloadable films and games (some chargeable), as well as a DVD player, iPod docking station and CD stereo. There's also direct-dial telephone, answering machine and free wireless broadband should you want to stay in touch with life elsewhere!
You will receive a warm welcome with a cup of Yorkshire Tea and cake, fresh milk and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. So when you arrive, reach for the corkscrew, light the candles, put your feet up and enjoy!
The owners Tim and Paula have two young girls themselves so they understand the importance of safety, comfort and fun and so provide quality cots, high chairs, stair gates and boxes of toys. Each cottage also has a ground floor toilet. Enclosed cottage gardens for toddlers, a big lower garden for older ones, and a small private lawned garden with barbecue for each cottage. The outdoor play area includes a two storey Wendy House, pet rabbit and piglets and games for all ages. The hens provide fresh eggs daily .
For the grown-ups there is a small, private leisure facility open daily, with a workout room, hot spa bath, sauna and sunbed. Beauty treatments and genuine Thai massage can also be booked.
Or you can easily venture out - Ilkley is a woodland walk away ,where you can visit Betty's for the best teas in Yorkshire. Ilkley Lido is one of the country's last outdoor public pools - great on a summer's day! Several family friendly pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.
