The Vijitt Resort in Phuket, Thailand is a beautiful luxury boutique all villa- style hotel, located in a stunning beach front position in south Phuket. It is surrounded by lush tropical gardens comprising over 300 types of trees and lush tropical plantation.
The resort was founded three years ago with luxury and privacy at the forefront together with a strong care and concern for the environment. This shows through in the design of the villas which is a very tasteful blend of Thai and contemporary elements. Many natural building methods are used such as thatched roofs, coconut hair wall decoration and bamboo cleverly featured in the floor tiles. Herbs and vegetables are organically grown and there is also a laboratory so guests can fully understand the wonders of the surrounding landscape, such as rubber cultivation and the vast range of fruit trees.
There are 92 luxury villas all with partial or full sea views, including 3 two bedroom pool villas, 13 Prime pool villas and 72 deluxe villas. The Deluxe Villas are great for families as 1 extra bed is free of charge. For the ultimate in luxury and pampered indulgence there are 4 beachfront pool villas. My stunning deluxe villa was only a stone's throw away from the beach, with its own gated garden, full length windows, high tech flat screen TV and extra large bathroom and open air bamboo walled monsoon shower. The two bedroom villas are the most suitable for families however a bed can also be put into a deluxe villa on request.
I strolled down to the vast pool and garden looking out onto Rawai beach, the tide was out and I was reminded that marine walks (with special footwear provided) and horse riding come into their element at this time of day ( kids and beginners are always accompanied) . Here the Savoury restaurant and beachside bar serve delicious Thai and Western cuisine with soft background music adding to the ambience. There is also the more sophisticated and authentic restaurant, Baan Vijitt. The Sino-Portuguese style house, which was the original Vijitt family weekend home, provides a traditional dining experience with a contemporary twist offering traditional Thai food with a focus on regional specialties.
This is a heavenly haven for a romantic holiday, but rest assured it's also great for children too, the centre piece Rotunda kids club is open all day (children under 4 need to be accompanied by an adult) and has its own children's pool, soft ground play frame as well as indoor craft activities such as batik painting, candle making as well as games and movies. Outdoor activities are also arranged such as marine walks, botanical walks, and boat trips out to nearby Coral Island and other sandy beaches when the tide is out. There is also a babysitting service which enables you to indulge in a special romantic dinner for two. There are also plenty of other attractions in Phuket and excursions can be arranged at reception ( including elephant trekking, horse riding, trips to Phi Phi Island.) You can take the free scheduled hotel shuttle bus to Phuket town which is 25 minutes and Patong beach for shopping and night markets which is 30 minutes.
The Vijitt is proud of its Responsible Tourism and Environmental policies. They encourage the use of local services and arrange visits to local community attractions such as the night market and local restaurants also recommending the use of public transport where possible. The Environmental policy has waste management and recycling systems as well as tending to the lush surrounding plantation with great care. Only natural fertilizers and pesticides are used and organic herbs and vegetables are grown for the cookery classes and the restaurants. The resort was carefully planned around the existing trees and none were lost during the construction.
