Wheeldon Trees Farm Holiday Cottages, Derbyshire
Wheeldon Trees Farm, Earl Sterndale, Buxton

Cottages are tasteful, contemporary, child and dog friendly and with green credentials to boot!
Wheeldon Trees Farm has eight beautifully renovated self catering holiday cottages, with stunning views of the hills and Upper Dove Valley that will have you reaching for the nearest pair of walking boots! Converted from an 18th century dairy barn and set within 12 acres of farmland, the cottages can sleep from 2 to a family of 5. However hiring of the eight cottages together can accommodate a party of 28 guests. The long room, normally set up as a games room, can be easily converted to a venue for family get-togethers with its own dedicated kitchen and dining facilities. If sharing the cooking responsibilities sounds too stressful then Wheeldon Farm can arrange catering for you - be it a five course dinner or a special occasion cake.
The cottages are of a traditional Derbyshire stone built construction with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, featured stonework and beamed room divisions. All cottages have been totally renovated, including 'green' central heating - hot water and heating comes from the ground source heat pump. Sheeldon cottage is all on ground floor level with full wheelchair access and has been awarded M2 mobility grading. The standards throughout Wheeldon Trees Farm are consistently high including comfort, cleanliness and decor of the cottages. In fact your hosts Martin and Deborah, who are most friendly and welcoming, pay great attention to anything that they could help with to ensure you and your family have the best possible time on holiday. All-in-all the entire package will be difficult to surpass.
Delicious breakfast boxes are available to guests which includes locally produced goodies such as St Clements bread, Peak District Dairy butter, milk, yogurt, Fair Game jams, Daisybank Apiary honey and Wheeldon Farms very own eggs & fruit juice. Selections of locally produced, ready-made meals are available for guest's convenience including yummy ice-creams.
The children have the chance to feed the chickens and the sheep and also will enjoy the freedom the farm gives to roam around in a safe environment and enjoy the great outdoors. There are also numerous walks and cycle rides to enjoy direct from your doorstep. Martin and Deborah can arrange for bicycles to be delivered for your arrival at a daily rate of £13 for adults & £10 for children (small delivery charge may apply). There are also guided bike tours available if pre-booked.
For chilling out at the end of a busy day sight-seeing the games room located in the long room is just the place to relax. There's pool, table football and it's also well equipped with books, games, puzzles and an extensive video and DVD library.
Dogs are welcome at Wheeldon Trees and unlike many other places they don't charge extra! Most cottages have their own small and fenced off rear patio; the tiled floors downstairs are easy to keep clean and towels can be provided for wiping off when you come in from that lovely long walk.
