Disney’s First Winnie the Pooh Playroom Opens at The Athenaeum Hotel

The playroom is sure to be a hit with the more than 1,000 children who visit the hotel each summer, giving parents a welcome break to enjoy a meal or spa treatment, as the hotel’s nanny keeps a watchful eye over the kids in the playroom. However parents may not want to miss out on the complimentary honey-flavoured ‘High Tea’, made using Regent’s Park bees’ honey, which will behosted by the kids’ concierge in the playroom every weekend.
“This is the first time we’ve worked with a hotel here in the UK to create a magical Disney experience. We hope the Winnie the Pooh playroom will add a touch of Disney magic for families holidaying in London over the summer and staying at the hotel. The playroom, which has been created as a delightful Hundred Acre Wood setting, has a huge amount of fun Winnie the Pooh toys which will be sure to keep the kids entertained for hours on end,” commented a Andrea Tartaglia, vice president, franchise marketing, Europe for The Walt Disney Company.

Beyond the playroom, the athenaeum will have more Winnie the Pooh inspired goodies for guests including a Honey-Tea Family Picnic Hamper’ which is filled to the brim with delicious food as well as Winnie the Pooh toys. The hamper can be enjoyed in one of the many neighbouring Royal Parks which surround the hotel.Furthermore, families who choose to stay in of the athenaeum’s newly refurbished apartments will find Winnie the Pooh and his friends around every corner – including fun bath and bedtime products, helping to make families’ stay fun and special.
