Aleenta Phuket, Thailand

Natai (Pilai) Beach, Phang Na,

Helen Says
Aleenta Phuket is a stunning contemporary luxury resort, set on a pristine white beach with amazing sunsets, this is a great spot for the kids organised activities and to use as a base for exploring the wonderful beaches and attractions near by.

Aleenta, a 5 star luxury boutique hideaway resort in Phang Na near Phuket in the south west of Thailand.  Phuket is Thailand's most popular holiday destination, just 1 hour and 20 minutes flight from Bangkok. The Aleenta is 15 minutes north of the airport, over the Sarasin bridge in Phang Na, which boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and view points for stunning sunsets.  It is in the culture of the Thai people to welcome children everywhere, and the Aleenta  has designed some of the villas and suites to make them family friendly. There are organised children's activities such as coconut bowling  sand castle competitions and Frisbee.  I would say the resort is most suited to families with children under 8.  There is a babysitting service so you can have some special you time and enjoy a romantic cocktail at sunset followed by a candlelit dinner under the moonlight.

Upon my arrival from the airport,  I was most warmly greeted with a cooling flannel and a delicious thirst quenching exotic fruit drink.  It was late afternoon and just enough time to check out the sun loungers on the beach.  Here the beach attendant was very helpful, preparing my rattan sun lounger and offering me a cooling flannel and complementary water in an ice bucket. There is a bar here too for those thirst quenching afternoon smoothies  and  ice creams.  The vast white sandy beach is safe and great for kids to play on,  not to mention the beautiful sunsets over the Andaman Sea.

Child friendly  accomodation can be self catering in one of the villas or in a suite with extra beds if needed. please remember to check when booking.  Whilst the Aleenta mainly caters for romantic luxury breaks, as it's in the culture of the Thai people to welcome children everywhere, the Management has designed some of the villas and suites to make them family friendly.  The pool villas are spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities as well as the Plasma TV and ipod station.

There are choices of dining options, there is the Chef's Table for fine dining and the open air downstairs restaurant for less formal cuisine which is very relaxed and family friendly and the waiters are always very helpful looking after the kids with any special requests.  The Aleenta strives to serve fresh seafood and local produce as much as possible as well as organically grown herbs and vegetables.  For a truly exotic family experience you can all have dinner under under the stars one evening on the beach at your own specially made up table, or alternatively if the children fancy eating by the TV, you can always arrange In Villa Dining or pizza room service delivery.

The gourmet breakfast will set you all up for the day and there are always planned activities and daily excursions to choose from.  Nearby attractions include the beautiful Phi Phi Island, elephant trekking, water sports, rafting,  as well as the many beaches around Phuket and Phang Na. There is also Phuket Town and Patong Beach for night markets and shopping ( about 30 minutes away)

There is no kids club here as such as it's a small resort and usually only one or two families here at one time.  The Aleenta encourages families to play together and to make the most of the natural attractions in and around the resort and there are organised activities such as coconut bowling, sandcastle competitions and Frisbee tournements as well as trips to the Turtle Sanctuary and boat trips.

I would say the resort is most suited to families with children under 8.  There is a babysitting service so you can have some special YOU time and enjoy a romantic cocktail at sunset followed by a candlelit dinner under the moonlight.

With the baby sitters on hand you can take time out and relax and unwind at the Spa IV, where you can indulge in a truly Thai experience, benefitting from the best organic and natural treatments, and leaving you at one with your inner self, ready to take on the chaos of family life once more!

The contemporary zen like linear design of this resort blends perfectly with the subtle palm trees silhouette along the beach front, and the use of water and floating effect on walkways over lily ponds, enhances the exotic ambience throughout!

In my view, this is a gem of a resort for an exotic family holiday.  The Aleenta luxury boutique resort hotel and Spa Phuket, is an ideal destination for your luxury family holiday in Thailand! Take a look at the Aleenta website for special offers and don't forget to mention Away with the Kids when booking!
