About antonia’s pearls

Antonia’s Pearls comprises The Cottage (sleeps 4), Olivia's (sleeps 4), Marine Villa (sleeps 6) and a small bolthole for friends The Cabin (sleeps 2) - all exquisitely and luxuriously finished, full of interesting collectibles (should you want to take some home check with Antonia as she stocks lots of goodies in her extremely tasteful store "Endellion") in the fabulous port of Charlestown, recently granted World Heritage Status. You may end up visiting each in turn, depending on which stage in life you’re at - you won’t be disappointed!

So décor - fabulous, you may not want to go home - or else you might consider commissioning Antonia to transform your home! Facilities - aplenty, from household essentials to baby equipment, all is (in my opinion) provided. Locations - gorgeous, attractions - aplenty. Weather - well what does it matter when you're in a such a beautiful area with so much to do and have a wonderfully relaxed and luxurious place to get back to?

Accommodation

From heated slate floors, to deep comfy sofas, a fire place for real fires or a log burning stove, TV/DVD, radio/CD, all the modern appliances you would expect, ceramic hobs, electric ovens, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, Belfast sink, WiFi and landline phone - all are spotlessly clean and awaiting your arrival, along with everything else you might need.

As for the gorgeous bedrooms - well the beds are made for falling into, the sheets are from the White Company and are the most fabulous Egyptian cotton percale (the duvet, pillows and towels are all from the White Company too). There are hair dryers, clocks, blankets and sewing kits in each bedroom.

Traditional cast iron baths, powerful overhead showers and the softest towels to wrap up in after a good long soak provide bathroom indulgence.

Practically the washing machine, tumble dryer, overhead airer and iron and ironing board, though not everyone's idea of a holiday, make sure getting home with a month's supply of laundry is avoided. You could also consider that you don't need to pack 27 outfits just-in-case. I feel so wholesome should I take clean washing home - never ironed but clean! Saying that with some of these views perhaps chilling out with a glass of wine and the old ironing, rather than surf board might be a consideration - or do I sound really sad?!

Facilities - for Kids

Are you ready?  There are all sorts of things available, particularly and perfectly if your kids are preschool age (as this is the age when once packed up I wondered where the heck I was going to fit!) including a Maclaren buggy, socket covers, anti door slammers, a baby monitor, a steriliser, a changing mat, stair gates, a high chair, a play mat, a travel cot with sheets and waterproof mattress protectors, plates and bowls, tumblers, knives, forks and spoons, a potty, a baby bath, a hand held food whizzer, a pair of Baa Baa Blackout Blind, and a few toys...

Things To Do

Antonia has compiled a long list comprising restaurants, days out, local food shops, local pubs, walks, boat rides - the list really does go on - you will never have reason to say there was nothing to do - unless you really did not want to leave your holiday home and didn't want to admit it!

The cottages are perfectly placed for some of Cornwall's main attractions such as the amazing Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as for visiting Fowey, the Maritime Museum in Falmouth, the Tate at St Ives, and Padstow which should be experienced along with Rick Stein's fish and chips. Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen (next to a fabulous beach - so take a day out) is a short drive away as is Newquay airport - it is 5 minutes to the train station (mainline from Paddington).

Or, one of Antonia's many suggestions - perhaps you might hire a kayak to go to Lostwithiel for lunch and then back for an ice cream, or if you are lucky enough, it may pour with rain, giving you the chance to lie back, watch a film or the view, or take one of life's greatest luxuries, an afternoon snooze (if the kids will let you - this is where you take it turns!). Then drag yourselves out for supper.

Animals are not allowed and nor is smoking.
