The Holiday Yurt Accommodation
Each yurt is located on an elevated position in the woodland giving not only a high degree of freedom but also wonderful views of the surrounding area. Inside each 18 ft yurt you will find extremely comfortable accommodation that is beautifully furnished and can sleep a family of 6. A cosy king size double bed takes centre stage complete with a lovely thick duvet for the cooler nights. Children are provided with camp beds, sleeping bags and blankets. Placed on raised wooden platforms, the yurts all feature verandas with seating areas including tables; ideal for alfresco dining and admiring the view. The outdoor hammock is the most wonderful spot to read that long awaited novel. Solar panels provide ample lighting and outside each yurt are en suite wash basins and a discreet composting toilet. A short walk away from the yurts you'll find your own individual hot showers, one for each yurt so families are allocated their own private shower with plenty of hot water.
Additional Self-Catering Facilities
The old barn is a communal self-catering area with kitchen facilities consisting of gas hobs, fridge and microwave where families can prepare and eat their meals. Every morning a hearty, continental breakfast is included the cost of your stay, with cereals, fresh bread and patisseries, local jams and honey, yoghurts, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Evening meals are served 3 times a week so that you can enjoy a break from cooking - well you are on holiday after all! Serving tasty home cooked food with menus suitable for both children and parents alike.
Things to Do Around and About Livradois National Park
Children will relish the freedom they have to explore the hilly wooded site, visit the fairy garden on a daily basis, paddle or canoe in the nearby river, hire a 'pack-donkey' for a day's walk with a picnic and visit the local historic castles. You can take a guided wildflower walk and see how many different species of birds, butterflies or animals you can spot. Deer, roe-deer and wild boar are often seen in the woodland and you may also spot a stoat , wild cat or genet. If you are lucky, you may see the shy black grouse which is the symbol of the Livradois National Park. Families also have the opportunity to partake in a Bushcraft Course which is a fabulous way to learn about the surrounding natural environment where you can learn how to make a fire with sticks or find out which plants you can eat.
