Barsham Barns - Large Families, Norfolk
Lower Farm Barns, North Barsham, Norfolk
A most luxurious setting to entertain and relax in the company of friends and family
We arrived at Long Meadow, Barsham Barns knowing that it was going to be good, but what we didn't expect was just how good and an absolute pleasure a stay here really is.
Aggie(2) and Alfie(3) soon absconded to the toy box corner and thus proceeded to spend the next hour happily scattering toys all over the floor, finding their favourites and general being enthralled with the variety of toys. This left Jo and myself to ooohhh and aahhhh over the kitchen and bedrooms before deciding it was getting late and we needed to feed the kids. Rustling up an omelette in the welll equipped kitchen was a dream and the welcome tea tray with tea, coffee, milk and a locally produced cake was soon being tucked into. Families can take advantage of pre-ordering from Waitrose, Sainsburys and Tesco who will all deliver to the barn. This takes the hassle out of stocking up on necessities and frees up more time to enjoy your well deserved break.
We loved everything about Long Meadow from its spacious open plan interior complemented with antique and contemporary furnishings, whilst light streams in through dramatic windows for you to enjoy the surrounding views and nights spent round the huge wood burning stove. The vivid pop of colour against the backdrop of exposed brickwork and featured beams creates a most stylish and contemporary holiday stay; a place to truly switch off, relax and enjoy the company of your friends in a wonderfully environment. Alfie called it his "King of the Castle" house as it features a central island den complete with enormous squishy cushions and TV for an alternate living space. It is from up here almost touching the rafters that you can appreciate what a gem this place is. It also cleverly hides a downstairs loo with washing machines and enormous storage spaces. Fitted stairgates can be installed to prevent little ones toddling up to the top deck under their own steam.
