Bedruthan Hotel & Spa

Child friendly hotel, Cornwall – Mawgan Porth, Cornwall.

About Bedruthan Hotel & Spa

We wanted to stay longer - the ocean view is breath-taking, the facilities fantastic - it makes for a very relaxed, happy holiday - priceless!

Bedruthan Hotel in Cornwall is setting a bench mark for all child friendly hotels to follow. Absolutely everything has been meticulously planned so that whatever age, shape or package you come in, there is something for you. Also the spectacular sea-views across Mawgan Porth beach, especially at sunset, are a joy to behold. Bedruthan is renowned for being a family friendly hotel with numerous facilities for the children including an amazing soft play room (the size of my house), an indoor and outdoor pool, kids evening activities, an OFSTED registered nursery and a baby listening service amongst others. The children’s high tea was even a pleasurable experience - wholesome food for the kids served in a restaurant where little spills are no problem. Don’t worry the parents facilities are of the same high standard…

Bedruthan is definitely on our shortlist of favourite places we would like to re-visit. Thoroughly upgraded to provide a contemporary, luxury hotel, with breathtaking sea views across Mawgan Porth beach this family owned and run, very child-friendly hotel, has won numerous awards. Together with it's eco-friendly ethos the facilities and service will make a lasting impression. Bedruthan is a great choice for families offering perfect pampering for frazzled parents, from shockingly decadent spa treatments to indoor and outdoor solar-heated pools, a stylish bar and excellent food in the adults-only dining room. The OFSTED registered nursery, kids' clubs, babysitting, wonderful sunsets, close proximity to the beach and fabulous outdoor play areas make it a joy for the children.

Accommodation

Bedrooms have a contemporary, comfortable design, those with views over the Atlantic Ocean offer a stunning view any time of the day.  Said views can be enjoyed throughout the hotel so don't worry if they are all booked out!  Choose from interconnecting rooms, family rooms and suites - there is something to suit all requirements.  Facilities include the tried and tested baby listening service in every room and yes it works (thank-you Aggie), microwaves can be found conveniently around the hotel for warming bottles and baby food. You can also hire all-terrain buggies to save on that precious car boot space.  Café Indigo is perfect for family lunches and presents a fabulous breakfast bar each morning with cooked and fresh everything - the girls loved it - I was worried about rolling home mind. The children's high-tea menu changes every day and offers really good freshly cooked options, as healthy or as treat based as you wish. Fresh fruit is always available as is homemade baby food.

For parents

The Ocean Spa is a must for pampering with luxurious signature treatments (without the nasty chemicals).  The Indigo Bay Restaurant is fabulous and serves up the best of seasonal local produce accompanied by an impressive wine list - the baby listening service works (Aggie tested it beautifully) so it is possible to enjoy a meal once the kids are down for the night.  Otherwise baby-sitting (prebookable) is available.  Evening entertainment is available but simply sat with a glass of whatever enjoyign the view outside the bar is actually pretty darned difficult to beat after a busy day on teh beach, in the pool, on the play ground…

Child friendly facilities

Other than the exclusive dults only bar (very important for sanity checks and quiet reading of newspaper, the whole place is family friendly.  From the indoor soft play and games areas, to the outdoor park and the fabulous pools the kids will be happily occupied. During the holidays there are all kinds of things going on for kids of all ages, including early evening activities (we were witness to an informative animal show that included live iguanas and skunks!) - if you want to make the most of the Spa the Ofsted inspected kids club provides child-care so you don't have to worry.  Children can interact with the environment in the nature garden. Teens can hang out in the Teenage Room, a chilled out area with various game stations and pool table and space from little ones. Space is a games room solely for the over 18's as sometimes it's refreshing to be in an environment away from the little monsters.  and a Real Nappy Kit is available for guest use

Nearby Family Activities

If you can tear yourself away from the wonderful facilities of Bedruthan you will soon realise you are in the perfect location to explore the many delights of Cornwall. Just a short drive from Bedruthan are the eleven golden beaches in and around Newquay. Newquay is also home to a whole host of things to see and do including restaurants, shops, a boating lake, Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. Further afield, you can discover the Eden Project.

Bedruthan is one of the best child friendly hotels I have stayed at - it's highly recommended!
