Bude Family Camping & Caravanning Holidays, Cornwall

Gillards Moor St, Gennys, Bude, Cornwall

This family friendly campsite in Bude is open from 1st April  - 26 September 2011.

We are delighted to offer 50 family and child friendly campsites - specifically selected for us by the Camping and Caravanning Club. We don't have a personal review for Bude as we haven't visited yet, so if you require further information please visit the owner's website by clicking the top right button and please do bear with us until we visit all these sites.

The Camping and Caravanning Club recognises how important it is for campers especially with children to find clean amenity blocks with a high standard of fixtures and fittings. All sites highlighted have additional on-site laundry facilities, just in case your brood happen to have fun frolicking in the mud! Your pitch will be available after noon on your arrival day and you will need to vacate it before noon on your last days stay.

The children's outdoor playground should help keep little ones entertained whilst parents need a breather or while tea is being prepared. There is also a recreation room with which is a handy respite when the weather is wet and the TV allows you to catch up with the news should you so wish.

Things to Do and Family Days Out near Bude

Bude town is nine miles north. The clifftops here form one of the most spectacular sections of the South West Coast Path. The Bude Canal has flat towpath walks, marshes and thriving wetlands. It is great for birdwatchers, walkers and cyclists. Cyclists can also enjoy the Camel Trail, which follows a disused railway along the Camel Estuary from Padstow to Bodmin Moor in the rugged heart of Cornwall.

Local beaches include Widemouth Bay with its splendid expanse of sand. Surfing schools are run from the beach.

King Arthur's legendary home is Tintagel Castle, now managed by English Heritage. The Launceston Steam Railway runs narrow gauge trains on the old North Cornwall Railway, linking Launceston with New Mills. The lovely village of Boscastle, tragically famous because of the floods of 2004, is five miles away. Hidden Valley Discovery Park allows the whole family to take part in the Crystal Challenges and the Vault. Bude Jazz Festival is one of the UK's leading festivals, taking place towards the end of August every year. Book early if you want to stay during the event.
