The Holiday Cottage

The cottage has been decorated in keeping with its surroundings with great taste and attention to detail. Vaulted ceilings characterise the interior with light and airy open-plan living accommodation. The master bedroom benefits from a feature king sized bed and the bunk bedded room will prove a hit with younger visitors.  The cottage features a log burner so you can be toasty and warm whatever the season. The outside patio area with tables and chairs overlooks its very own waterfall which is wonderfully illuminated at night. The waterfall and running stream that flows into Budle Bay is very securely fenced and gated and should not be a cause for concern. Outside, there's a private garden with another dining area and outdoor table tennis table, swing ball, sand pit and selection of buckets & spades.

A long list of nursery gear, toys, dressing up box and books ensure little ones are thoroughly amused and is good to know without needing to shoehorn it all into the car. For parents there is the full Sky package, Wii and huge selection of DVDs, plus board games, a nintendo DS and games and even hair straighteners! On your arrival the little touches will make a huge impression like fresh flowers on the table, a welcoming cake, a bottle of wine waiting and fresh milk in the fridge. For extra indulgence, the fantastic ready meal delivery service, private chef for celebratory meals and wine box delivery, all but guarantee a memorable and relaxing break.

Younger guests will delight in being acquainted with the resident animals.  Jacob sheep (Angel, Tuppence, Daisy Doo, Petal and Butterfly White) and chickens (Lollipop, Bish, Bash and Bosh). Don't be surprised to find the odd fresh free range egg on the door step! For those who like to fish, Budle Falls comes with double bank fishing rights and with Sea Trout, Salmon, Eels, Swans, Geese, Ducks and even Otters to see, there is something for everyone! Children will love to play Pooh Sticks over the little bridge, and run free in the woods and paddocks, spotting signs or even catching a glimpse of the vast array of wildlife including badgers, foxes, rabbits, deer, woodpeckers and bats.

Things to Do and Places for Families to Visit in Northumberland

Guests are offered day passes to use the facilities at the private Ocean Club in nearby Seahouses. For a small fee you can relax in the pool, gym, sauna, hot tub and café. The club also has a kiddies pool, playpens, baby changing and kids menu, plus frequent ‘splash times' when toddlers are encouraged to make waves in the pool!

Budle Falls is perfectly located for you to make the most of the beautiful Northumberland coast and countryside, close to walks and cycle routes. It lies only 2 miles from Bamburgh with its historic castle and wonderful sandy beach, Close by is Holy Island, with one of the most important centres of early christianity in Anglo Saxon England, the Lindisfarne Priory. Other fab days out are a visit to Dunstanburgh Castle, a trip on Heatherslaw Light Railway and not forgetting the amazing treehouse restaurant at Alnwick Gardens.
