About Canvas & Clover
Canvas and Clover has ten, fully furnished bell tents in a large car-free field, with luxury toilet and shower facilities. Just bowl up to your tent and you will find a double bed and up to three inflatable mattresses with pillows and bedding all ready for you. There is a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and a garden shed for storing wellies and coats with a gas stove for cooking. Canvas and Clover has a small wood adjacent to the campsite with trees to climb and a fairy trail. The field is car free with loads of space for playing games. As you are staying on are a working farm the children will have plenty of close-up encounters with the resident farm animals and you can arrange farm tours on request. A travel cot and high chair can be borrowed if required. There is a covered area with books and games and plenty of fantastic places nearby for the family to visit and explore including the beautiful cathedral city of Worcester just 7 miles away.
Glamping is now hugely popular and families in particularly love it because it has the right balance of thrill and adventure without the hassle that bring your own tent involves. We all know that the British weather can be unpredictable at the best of times. My kids feel a huge sense of achievement in erecting their own tent but I can vouch trying to shout instructions to my brood while battling the elements is sometimes not the ideal start to a relaxing break. A camping trip whereby you don’t have to overload the car and tick off the never ending equipment list is just heavenly; knowing that at the end of the journey everything is already set up for you so you waste little time in discovering everything around you.
The owners Matt and Wendy are third generation dairy farmers. They set out to create their ideal family glamping site, passionate that it should be an eco-friendly magical environment. Thus Canvas and Clover is such a delightful place, set on a working farm in rural Worcestershire, it allows you to enjoy all the best bits of camping whilst being close to nature. A place whereby the kids will realise they don’t need to be permanently attached to electronic gadgets to have fun and they can relish the thrill of sleeping under the stars under canvas and create magical memories toasting marsh mallows over fire pits surrounded by twinkling fairly lights. With plenty of car-free space for the children to run around it won’t be long before the kids venture off and discover the fairy door trail, the bug hotel or join in with a game of football.
About the Bell tents
The yurts are spread spaciously round a meadow on a quiet part of the farm, so you feel you’re not too close to your neighbours. Each bell tent is set up with a double bed and up to three inflatable beds and are beautifully decked out in bunting, colourful rugs, ditsy floral bedding and a wicker hamper. Every tent has a fire pit, barbecue, and picnic bench and also has their own kitchen shed. This holds a gas burner for cooking, a barbecue, kettle, plates, cutlery, glasses and mugs, cool box with ice packs, fire blanket and carbon monoxide detector. There is enough space to lock up bikes and store wellies. There is no electricity.
For £10 per night, Canvas and Clover also allow small 2 man tent sited close to your bell tent, so that older children can have a little more independence, space and privacy.
On site there’s a clean, modern shower block, containing six individual rooms each with a toilet, shower and sink. There's a washing up area and a small shop that sells locally sourced and fair trade produce plus all the basic essentials. A handy covered barn provides a useful, cosy communal space, with a stash of games including boules and giant jenga, children's books and a telescope. As it has tables and chairs it offers a sheltered spot for you to enjoy a meal and a drink if it’s raining. There are also phone charging points if you can’t afford to be uncontactable while on your break.
Location and places to visit in Worcestershire
Although there is plenty to do right here at the farm, there are many opportunities in the surrounding area for things to do and places to visit. The children may enjoy a visit to nearby West Midlands Safari Park, located in Bewdley in Worcestershire. With its plethora of animals together with a theme park means it offers a fun day out for all the family. Thomas the train entusiasts will love a trip onboard a steam trains. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Kidderminster and Bridgenorth. Cob House nestles right in the heart of rural Worcestershire, only three miles from the centre of the Cathedral City of Worcester. The idyllic surroundings offer familes time to relax and enjoy the countryside from the spectacular Mayfly Café overlooking beautiful lakes and parkland whilst participating in many activities on site. The parkland contains the timber trail play area, wildlife pool, Reindeer, Alpacas, Pigs, Goats, Chickens and Ducks. Witley Court and Gardens was one of England's great country houses, hosting many extravagant parties. Today it is a spectacular ruin, the result being devastated by fire in 1937. Looked after now by the English Heritage families can get hands-on with history and join in with one of the many Victorian inspired events.
