About Clos des Saveurs
Clos des Saveurs is a boutique B & B and, during the summer months, a decadent holiday home in the stunning Bergerac/St Emilion region. I urge you to book!
Clos des Saveurs is a luxurious child friendly retreat that is for your sole use - be it for a family of four (two bedrooms minimum requiement), a larger family gathering or as group accommodation for friends - Clos des Saveurs is ideal for those who want to holiday together but equally like their own space. With the choice of either a family B & B stay from March through to June or as a fantastic luxurious self-catering destination from July to September this place is delightful. You may crash out in your quarters or congregate in the lounging room and not feel crammed in, or else can picnic in the grounds and feel peaceful. This is a lovingly restored, gorgeously styled 'Maison Bourgeoise' that oozes relaxed calm and elegance. With just four gorgeously spacious en-suite bedrooms, a relaxed lounge, huge extraordinarily equipped kitchen, along with fabulous gardens, outdoor toys, outdoor pool, space to explore, a vineyard next door and St Emilion or Bergerac a short drive away there is loads to do nearby. Owned by two chefs, hailing from London, the family breaks on offer provides not only decadent, luxurious and spacious child friendly surroundings but a feast for the palate too. The fact that this place caters for famillies and that Barbara and Jonathan will welcome you and the kids to their fantastic home is almost too good to be true. But it is.

Architect designed, each individual bedroom and suite at Clos des Saveurs (of which they are four in total) are incredibly spacious, bright and luxuriously appointed using bright, eclectic and stylish fittings. Each has big comfy beds with plenty of space to fit a child's bed and / or cot as required. Each bed is fitted with good quality bedding and linen and towels are included. Your room is complemented by a characterful, en-suite bathroom where the deep bath tubs are calling - bath time will be a joy be it for a good old relaxing soak or getting the kids ready for bed - there is actually enough room to put a couple of beds in them should the need ever arise! Heated towel rails are to hand as is a handy over-head shower. For those less able, or those of you with young babies or toddlers, a bedroom is located on the ground floor, the other three are on the first floor.
The spacious lounging area is next to the kitchen. Enjoy the cooking aromas all year round, more so if dinner is being cooked for you, enjoy the bright and airy feel thanks to the enormous windows in the summer, the blazing log fire in the winter - it really is a room for all seasons; relax with a book alone, flop down in front of the satellie tv for quiet time with the kids, use the music centre to set the scene for dinner or open a good bottle of local plonk and chat with friends.
Food is where Clos des Saveurs comes into its own and given this is the abode of chefs the kitchen is a cook's dream with EVERYTHING you might need to concoct any dish. You will know that self-catering with little ones is liberating - grabbing fresh food as required makes life so much easier, being able to prepare packed lunches for day trips out or rustle up a hot chocolate at melt-down bed time is essential.
During high season months dinner may be pre-arranged for a minimum of six guests at an additional cost of 75 euros per person, which is inclusive of four courses, aperitfs and drinks throughout the meal. Combine your self-catering with someone preparing, serving and clearing up dinner on a couple of pre-arranged nights and suddenly your self-catering holiday turns into a real break and a particularly good one at that. Meals and dietary needs are discussed with Barbara and Jonathan; dinner may be eaten inside, around the large dining table or al fresco in one of the many seating areas dotted around the grounds.
B & B
From March through to end of June and from September onwards accommodation is offered on a B & B basis with a minimum of a four night stay. A booking gives you sole use of the maison (minimum 4 / 2 bedrooms) - the place is yours. Your breakfast will be a divine and relaxed affair (served between 8.00 - 10.00) and is designed to be enjoyed not stressed over - so step down a pace or two and relax and enjoy the courses.
Evening meals may be pre-arranged during B & B periods. Discuss with them your likes and dislikes and they will come up with the most delicious of dishes. They have incidentally run cookery school classes so this could well be an opportunity to pack the family off for the day and hone your culinary skills. Minimum of four persons required.
