An absolutely adorable place to take youngsters on holiday.
Enjoy the magic of a farm holiday for the children with all the comforts of home here at Coombe Mill. Properties range from one bedroom (with space for a cot or z bed) to five bedroom sleeping 9 plus cots in a mixture of traditional old Cornish stone cottages, contemporary Scandinavian log cabins and little riverside lodges. All the Cottages and Lodges are well appointed and fully equipped.
With 30 acres to explore and the magical morning tractor and trailer feed run under the watchful eye of farmer Nick the children will have the holiday of a lifetime. They will have hands on experience with feeding everything from deer, donkeys, goats and sheep to chickens and rabbits. An egg to take back for breakfast and a turn at helping drive the tractor is always popular. Good to know that much of what they learn will also help them at playgroup and school.
Feel part of the family, the owners live here too on this beautiful estate with their 6 children who are always looking for new playmates to arrive! They are here to greet you and help you with anything you need during the week. Everything from babysitting to wellies is available, as they understand the needs of parents only too well!
Children's facilities include: a play area including full size play tractor, an under 5's separate fenced play area, indoor soft play area for under 5's, fishing nets, badminton & volleyball area, books, games and toys to borrow. Extra family facilities are two huge purpose built covered barbecues with free logs & all cooking utensils
Try your hand at fishing in the course fishing lakes or in the river Camel that runs through the estate
Take advantage of the grocery delivery service and free up that extra space in your car. If you'd like your holiday grocery shopping arranged the local stores can take your order and deliver it directly to your accommodation prior to your arrival.
With home cooked meals ready to pop in the oven, locally produced jam, clotted cream and scones for tea and so much more in the lovely help yourself and write it down honesty shop you are well catered for. You can help yourself to toys, games, leaflets, wellies and much more and if you can tear the kids away go out and explore the nearby moors, beaches, harbour towns and famous Eden project. Nearest beach is 10 minutes away in car but not accessable by pushchair. Nearest beach with pushchair access and parking facilities is 15 - 20 minutes by car.

GREAT holiday destination. Cottage we stayed in was lovely - especially the toy room! 3YO loved the feed run in the mornings. Fiona and Nick were really friendly. Play areas were great. Really close to lots of fun days out. Great fun for families who enjoy the outdoors.

I stayed at Coombe Mill with my husband and 3 boys (ages 6, 5 and 2) at the beginning of October and we had an amazing time. We stayed in a Scandinavian Lodge which was stunning, and huge! It had everything we needed - washing machine, dryer, and even a cot and highchair if you need them. The accommodation is immaculate and very clean.
Whatever isn't available in your accommodation is probably available to borrow from reception. I saw wellies, potties, books and games so there is no need to pack the car up too much. They also provide bread, milk and homemade meals that you can buy .
There's lots to do at Coombe Mill - feed the animals, play in the fantastic children's play areas (indoor or outdoor) - my oldest loved the zipwire and it was hard to get my middle boy out of the pirate ship . There's a trampoline, swings, bikes, trikes and cars. The children loved it.
There's lots of outdoor barbecue areas but also a fantastic indoor one, so you can enjoy a barbecue whatever the weather.
Coombe Mill is also the perfect place from which to explore the North Cornwall Coast and we had some great days out at Port Isaac, Polzeath and Padstow. It's a beautiful area with lots of do.
This was our first visit but we will definitely be returning. Coombe Mill is a perfect family friendly holiday and the owners are so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Finding a holiday that allows us, as parents a break, and keeps a 4 year old and a 12 year old happy is a challenge in itself!
Coombe Mill is set in a beautiful valley in North Cornwall. Whilst offering self-catering holiday breaks ideal for families, the highlight for all of us has to be working farm. There are bunnies, chickens, geese, wallabies, peacocks, pigs, deer, donkeys, goats, alpacas, ponies, sheep and the best bit, the kids can get as hands on as they want! As well as the animals, there is a daily tractor and trailor ride and play areas (both indoor and out), a badminton/volleyball court and much much more. For the adults there are outdoor BBQ’s and even a new indoor BBQ house! We would definitely go back, its the perfect holiday for kids and we are planning our next visit already.
Thank you to our lovely hosts Fiona and Nick.

We would like to thank Fiona, Nick, Ted and everyone else at Coombe Mill for a wonderful week. The holiday completely lived up to our expectations - which were very high! Felix in particular loved every moment and since returning home has been asking to go back to the "holiday farm" and to see his favourite rabbit "Brownie". I'm sure we'll be back as I expect he and Sylvie will enjoy it even more when a little older and bigger.

Perfect...so much more than we expected! The welcoming nature of the hosts and the charming atmosphere is second to none. Cornwalls best kept secret! Thankyou Coombe Mill for the best holiday I have had in a long time.

Thank you once again for a wonderful holiday! It is so wonderfully relaxing, never disappoints! You feel the stresses melt away as you drive down into the valley! Dotty’s piglets were a definite highlight and the rabbits as popular as ever, they were so gorgeous. The lovely weather was a great bonus. Trebah was lovely, and the girls love the play loft! 3rd year here and can't wait to return again next year - as Jess said, "but a year is SO LONG!" We’ll be back again and again!

We went down to Coombe Mill with our three girls during the Easter holiday this year, after a recommendation from some family friends. We were so pleased to discover Coombe, the girls had a fantastic time on the farm and we had some good days out on the beach too. I've just booked the next one for next year!

A truly magical place to holiday with kids. It can be as relaxing or action-packed as you want it to be. Everything is thought out with children in mind. Amazing outdoor facilities and the daily tractor feed run rides were a real hit. Home cooked meals in the freezer if you don't fancy cooking - although the kitchen has everything you'll need if you do. Nice places nearby to eat out or takeaway. Great location for attractions, beaches, Eden Project etc.
Best family holiday we've had.

We had our best ever family holiday at Coombe Mill in Cornwall (so much better than Euro Disney!!). Every morning we put on our Wellies and joined Farmers Nick and Ted, jumping on to the tractor and doing the rounds to feed the chickens, donkeys, ducks, goats, pigs, bunnies and ponies. Both of the kids even had a drive of the tractor! Our daughter was a bit scared at the start of the week, but by a few days in she was really enjoying feeding all the animals.
We’re hoping to go back again next year.

Yet another fantastic holiday from the Odells and Lakeys. Been coming to Coombe now for over 16 years and always have such a wonderful relaxing time. Lovely to see how the family are consistently making improvements each year by adding new animals, accommodation etc. Their enthusiasm is the same as when they first took over which is brilliant. Coombe will always be a holiday favourite with us and we will be back!!! xx

We have all had a wonderful time on Nick and Fiona’s lovely farm, especially Morten, he has loved the tractor rides and driving the tractor and getting to know the animals. And Morten wanted to thank farmer Ted for making his week special. We will definitely be in touch to book again next year.

We had a lovely week at Coombe Mil and have already booked to go back next year. Our children loved the freedom of the farm and spent many happy hours in the playground and feeding the bunnies. Our accommodation was beautifully clean and had everything we needed. The farm is set up to make sure your holiday is as relaxed and child friendly as possible!
Our younger daughter had been seriously ill earlier in the summer and to see her gain energy and stamina over our week at Coombe Mill was lovely. We now have two children with a healthy glow, ready for school in September! Many thanks to everyone at Coombe Mill.

We have returned from our first holiday at Coombe Mill and are missing you already! We had a brilliant time, thanks so much. It was a perfect place for our 19 month old and he seems to have picked up loads of new words -tractor, farmer, alpaca, goat and river being his favourites! Joe fell in love with the alpacas and guinea fowl and we met some lovely people. Loved seeing the new piglets! We've already booked for next year and can't wait to return.

Another lovely holiday, our second year running and we've booked again for next year! Pencarrow is stunning, and the animals were as popular as ever! Can't wait to see Dotty's piglets and any fawns that arrive. I think the goats are our favourite, lovely to get to know all their different personalities - Jumper definitely has the most attitude!!!! Can't wait to come back!

We had a lovely holiday at Coombe Mill. We came in June last year and took three children out for the week, thought about this long and hard but Coombe Mill have some great worksheets for school children so the school approved it. Not only did we save a fortune on school holiday prices, but the beaches were lovely and quiet and all the attractions. We were surprised to find other parents who had done the same as us and so our girls also had paly mates their age at the farm. It is a wonderful experience for children, a real family feel to the place and such a safe way to interface with the animals. We have booked again for this year.

Properties are like home from home with all the modern appliances you would hope for and even stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs and a fenced in garden. Coombe Mill is so well thought out by the owners who clearly understand what is needed to make a relaxing family holiday.

Just had a week away in the newly refurbished Water Mill. Wow what a difference, we love the character and space before but did find it hard to keep heated and a bit dark and dingy. Now that it has 2 lovely windows in the ceiling, the mother of all modern wood burners and a stylish contemporary make over it is transformed. They have some great pics on their facebook site so you can see what we mean! Well done Coombe Mill another success!

Just had to say what a huge success our holiday at Coombe Mill has been. With twins age 18months I was slightly dreading our first holiday but Nick and Fiona were super. We stayed in Honeysuckle cottage. There was plenty of space and even a toy den which the twins loved. Out on the farm rides Farmer Nick and Farmer Ted are so good with the children, it is a delight to watch them build their confidence with the animals and having such fun. A great holiday so well thought out.

The kids were desperate for a farm holiday but I wanted sun and luxury. Coombe Mill wasn't luxury but it was perfect for the children and even the rainy days didn't seem to matter. They were so happy on the farm and with the animals I think we will be back again and my sunny holiday will have to go on the back burner!

We have been going to Coombe Mill for years, what really sets it apart is the investment that the owners put in. Every time we go there is something new, a property, play area, always something which keeps it fresh whilst retaining the farm charm. It keeps us returning year after year!

Super family holiday, focused on families with kids. Lots of open space for kids to run around free. Not far from Bodmin (Bodmin Jail, Lanhydrock House) and lots of lovely wooded walks nearby. We did so much in our two weeks, but great place to relax as well - could easily spend all day on the farm.
Julia Brickle & Family writes on 01 February 2011
We've been to Coombe Mill a couple of times now. Husband spends hours by the fishing lake and the kids spend the holiday running round with the animals. There is a facebook page, so the kids can follow what is going on with the animals on there. The latest news is the new shetland pony, which they can't wait to meet! Everything you could want to borrow for the kids is in the reception. Couldn't think of a better family holiday for us.

I brought the kids to Coombe Mill and we had the best holiday yet, at this wonderful farm in Cornwall! I would never have thought a farm holiday could be so easy, the daily tractor rides with Farmer Nick and Farmer Ted are just the best. The kids had the time of their lives, it's just so different from home life. I always worry about a holiday on my own with the kids, but found it really easy at Coombe Mill. Thoroughly recommend this holiday to anyone with children.

I can recommend Coombe Mill as a great family farm holiday. Our youngster still thinks he can wonder off to feed the pigs even though we are back home! The Fishing lake is pretty challenging but a great escape - very peaceful! There is kit available for the kids, so they had a go too. Accommodation is very varied so worth looking on their web site to make sure you know what you are getting. We went for the cheap lodges which had amazing views but are very small, they have some lovely larger lodges which we will splash out on next time.

Thank you for another magical holiday - we all enjoyed ourselves - I celebrated my birthday and our wedding anniversary there - it couldn't have been any better! The baby animals were all gorgeous - we wanted to take one of the adorable piglets home with us but considering the size of Dotty, its a good thing that wasn't an option! We've booked for next year too! Its something the girls, and us (!!) can look forward to for the rest of the year. Thank you Nick, Fiona, Gill & Ted from The Evans Family x

We have just returned from our third holiday at Coombe Mill and again we had a great time and were blessed with fantastic weather. Our two sons (2yrs and 5yrs) loved being able to visit the animals whenever they wished and were more than happy to leave some of their packed lunches just so they could feed 'Dotty' the pig! Our only slight dissapointment was that 'Dotty' didnt have her piglets during our stay but our eldest son is over the moon that she ended up having them on his birthday! We will definately be back to Coombe Mill again and will continue to recommend it to our friends!

Just got back from another fantastic holiday at Coombe. Everything was perfect, and to see so many babies born in the week, including Dotty's gorgeous brood, what more could we have asked for. A special thanks to Farmer Nick and Farmer Ted, Harry was spoilt with so many turns at driving the tractor, it made his week and 1 year old Holly has become accomplished at imitating a sheep! Can't wait to come back next year!!!

We stayed at Coombe Mill February half term in one of the Scandinavian Lodges which was great, really spacious and perfect for the kids. The lodge was right beside the playground and the kids had the run of the farm which was super! Coombe Mill was in a brilliant location, very close to the Camel Trail (we took our bikes and spent a day on the camel trail) half an hour from the beach and the village pub in walking distance, which did great food! Thoroughly recommend Coombe Mill for a relaxing holiday!

We took the family in October and had a wonderful break and are coming back in summer! The house was great and the surroundings are beautiful - the perfect escape from work! The family were really welcoming when we arrived and it was great for our kids, they got on really well with the camboroupolos children. It was so nice to let the kids just go off and play on their own without supervision - the highlight for them was feeding the animals! Really relaxing holiday and cant wait to go back in July!

We had a such a wonderful family holiday. Coombe Mill is so relaxing, the children enjoyed getting back to basics, feeding the animals, riding on the tractor, making friends and despite taking thier favourite DVDs for rainy days they never once watched them which was refreshing for us all! We were lucky enough to see baby chicks hatch while we were there and by the end of the week the children were giving them a morning stroke and had names for them all. The home cooked meals were simply scrummy and big portions too so the great kitchen did no more than heat meals! We are already booked in again for next year!

We had a fabulous time here in June 2009. The daily tractor rides were brilliant and we really enjoyed paddling in the forde and stream, looking for wildlife around Coombe Mill. The kids also loved feeding the animals. Coombe Mill have thought of everything for the children, which made our stay that more relaxing! Plus the food from the freezer was excellent. Made it a special treat to eat in. We'll definitely go back and would recommend to all young families!

As two families we decided go on holiday together in a shared cottage at Coombe Mill. We knew the kids would get on great - luckily the adults did as well. We were spoilt for space in Millers cottage with it's 4 double bedrooms and one single, everyone was happy. So with 4 adults, 4 girls, a toddler and a baby we would highly recommend a stay here as there is so much to keep all ages entertained. The big attraction is the farm run with hen feeding, Sally the pig, donkeys, sheep, deer, goats and not forgetting my girls favourite the rabbits. Needless to say - "Dad dad ..can we have one Dad?" was the main topic on the way home.
