Hua Hin is an ideal Thailand destination for a family friendly holiday as it is only 2.5 hours drive from Bangkok, there is no need to take another flight as required for other holiday resorts. This is the oldest Thai holiday resort, made famous now the King and Queen often reside here in their Royal Summer Palace. The Courtyard concept is to keep your children happy and entertained so you and other parents can relax and make the most of the holiday with both family time and some grown up time whilst the kids are busy in the fantastic ( professionally supervised) Kids World club.
My family was made to feel very welcome on arrival, it was a hot day and we were all given a refreshing welcome drink. The reception area is open and very spacious, even though this has the sumptuous feel of a luxury hotel, kids and their playfulness is far from frowned upon as in other luxury hotels. There is a juice /ice cream bar, small shop called MoMo2go( at local shop prices) and the extremely family friendly restaurant MoMo Café. There is also MoMo 2 you should you require meal delivery to your room pls cancel that is the shop. The reception area leads out to the vast reflection pool and gardens leading down to the main pool and the sea front, where here there is also a beach side MoMo Café serving snacks and meals.
The restaurant staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is also a cosy TV area so kids have the choice to chill our or eat more casually. The Courtyard concept takes into account that there are often cost constraints for family holidays, and hence the "Kids eat free" policy with the "Kids Rock" deal. (Here 2 kids sharing with parents can stay and eat for free)
The Kids Club is free to attend (although some activities do carry charges) and offers some great activities such as Batik painting, Glass Painting, Jelly Candle Making, & Magical Dress up. There is a soft ball play area for toddlers and a cool Teen zone for older kids with play stations, internet, pool and other games to play. Outdoors, the supervised waterslide into the pool is the clear favorite. There is plenty here to keep the kids busy and let you relax blissfully around the pool , chill out with a drink at the pool bar, or treat yourself to an indulgent Spa treatment.
Family accommodation here comes in the form of elegantly furnished adjoining rooms or 2 & 3 bed suites, which have plenty of living space and all have a private balcony overlooking the Gulf of Siam and the vast pristine Cha am beach .There are cots available and a professional babysitting service as well as ramps outside for stroller access. .
Hua Hin and the surrounding area has plenty of attractions and this is a great opportunity to embrace the Thai culture and experience the warmth and friendliness of the Thai people. The hotel runs a shuttle service into town, ( about 15 minutes away) where there are numerous shops, restaurants, night markets etc. Excursions can be arranged to visit attractions such as King Rama VI Palace, Sam Roi Yod National Park, Pala-Au waterfalls . A visit to the nearby animal rescue center is recommended as this is very educational for children as well as beneficial to the charity and volunteers who run the project.
