The reception area is open and very spacious, even though this has the sumptuous feel of a luxury hotel, kids and their playfulness is far from frowned upon as in other luxury hotels. There are freshly baked pastries, desserts and a wide selection of teas and coffees available at MoMo 2 Go and the extremely family friendly restaurant MoMo Café. There is also MoMo 2 You should you require meal delivery to your room. The reception area leads out from the restaurant to the pool area where the centerpiece waterslides and Kids World club take centre stage.
The restaurant staff are extremely friendly and helpful, with many family size tables with plenty of room for playing around the table as well as plenty of high chairs. The Courtyard concept takes into account that there are often cost constraints for family holidays, and hence the "Kids eat free" policy with the "Kids Rock" deal. (Here 2 kids sharing with parents can stay and eat for free when parents buy an entrée off the regular menu)
In addition to this, the Kids World Club is free to attend (although some activities do carry charges) and offers some great activities such as Batik painting, Glass Painting, Jelly Candle Making, Magical Dress up, and Play Dough Art. There is a soft ball play area for toddlers and there is a teen zone for older kids to chill out, with play stations, internet and other games to play. Outdoors, the kids waterslides into the pool is the clear favorite, with pool activities such as volley ball planned in the late afternoon. At 4pm the chance to "walk on water" is very appealing to the children in the pool as one by one they attempt to walk across the pool inside the gigantic bubble.
There is plenty here to keep the kids busy and let you relax blissfully around the pool , chill out with a drink at the pool bar, or treat yourself to an indulgent Spa treatment at the Araya Spa. There is also a 24 hour fitness centre should you feel the urge to shed some calories following all the delicious Thai cuisine you have indulged in!
Family accommodation here comes in the form of elegantly furnished deluxe room or one bed room suite, which has plenty of living space and all have a private balcony overlooking pool and tropical gardens. There are cots available and a professional babysitting service as well as ramps outside for stroller access. .
The beautiful Surin beach is only a few minutes stroll away, across the road and small park at the front of the hotel. The children can play here in the soft white sand and it's great for surfing if your kids are able and up for the challenge. I arrived late in the afternoon and soon realised why people come here just to watch the sun go down, this is a perfect spot for kids and grown ups to enjoy. The hotel also has the Siam Adventure club which runs excursions to nearby islands such as Phi Phi Island, Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island), Adventure treks, Rafting etc. Phuket has night markets and many family friendly restaurants, and this is a great opportunity to embrace the Thai culture and experience the warmth and friendliness of the Thai people.
