and Adam Black had a dream…took a deep breath and with lots of passion,
enthusiasm and a huge lifestyle change, set out to establish a unique holiday experience
that would tick all the boxes for their own ideal family holiday choice. We’re glad
they did, as East Thorne is now welcoming guests of all ages to enjoy. And it’s
stunning - an
idyllic place for a holiday that combines the adventure of sleeping below the
open skies in comfort and style.
Enjoying a sheltered spot near Bude, North Cornwall, East Thorne is a quiet and peaceful location, and close to the sea, with five beaches just a few minutes by car. Explore this most beautiful part of Cornwall, where a short drive leads you to either the sandy Atlantic coast or the high coastal cliffs.
The Camping Yurts
At the heart of East Thorne are the 10 sustainably sourced, luxury yurts, which can each sleep a family of 6. The yurts are built in true Mongolian style and are located within their own private setting amongst the trees. A perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside whilst watching the little ones scamper about enjoying the fresh air and hopefully tiring themselves out! The yurts are furnished so that you can enjoy a touch of luxury whilst camping, with comfortable handmade beds, snuggly blankets and furnishings. Raised off the ground on wooden decking, the yurts come complete with a wood burning stove and felt insulated walls, ensuring a warm and cosy environment whatever the weather.
There's no need to overload your car and haul all your camping paraphernalia with you. All of the practical things you need are provided to make sure your self-catering stay is hassle-free such as pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, highchairs and cot beds...even herbs from the communal garden! Each yurt has its own sheltered outdoor kitchen with separate barbeque and al fresco dining area and refrigeration and storage facilities. Just a stone's throw away you'll find the luxury bathroom building with modern and stylish facilities.

Things
for Families to See and Do in North Cornwall
If
you are a family who enjoys nothing more feeling sand between the toes, digging
sandcastles and hunting for treasure in rock-pools then you are going to be in holiday
heaven as there is not one, but five beaches within a few minutes drive.
Summerleaze Beach at Bude has a great sandy beach, a snack bar, an open-air sea
pool, lifeguard cover (May to Sept, 10am-6pm), those all-important loos, close
at hand and you can even hire beach huts for the day.
The nearby scenery is stunning with a plethora of beaches,
harbours, country lanes, and the Cornish Moors all within easy reach. The
picturesque villages of Boscastle and Tintagel have something for everyone to
enjoy, with delightful shops, galleries, potteries, churches and historic
buildings to take in on any visit. Explore King Arthur's medieval
castle at Tintagel or an hours drive will get you to the award wining Eden
project.
