Four Seasons Safari

Child friendly glamping, Normandy – Child Friendly Lodges next to a Safari Park, Normandy

About Four Seasons Safari

African themed timber lodges with wallabies literally at your doorstep, rhinos in the adjacent paddock and hundreds of wild animals in the Safari park beyond

Family Safari anyone? Inclusive of your ferry crossing Four Seasons offers you the chance to stay in a fabulous self-catering, eco-friendly timber lodge, sleeping up to 6 people, with a veranda overlooking deer and wallabies, on the edge of an award winning safari park. The park is home to more than 900 animals and is passionate about the conservation of endangered species in the wild!  Located in the beautiful Pays d'Auge region of Normandy, France with the coastal resorts of Deauville and picturesque Honfleur only 30 mins drive away this is a truly memorable place for a short break with a big difference - and the prices include a return ferry to/from Calais.

Watch the animals from your terrace and hear the roar of the lions as you eat your croissants - without an almighty flight to recover from when you take a Four Seasons' Safari break in Normandy. Providing a fabulous en-route stop to your gite or an exciting safari weekend it's the perfect way to do something different without breaking the bank - remember the prices include a ferry crossing for your family and car. The 26 lodge village is just an hours drive form the port of Caen or Le Havre and approximately 3 hours from Calais in the heart of the Pays D'Auge region of Normandy. A plus is the flexibility, you get to choose your day and time of travel and can stay from 3 to 7 nights.

Comfortably sleeping four, with a sofa-bed that can sleep a further two, the Safari Lodges overlook a small valley and lake where Wallabies and Deer roam freely whilst the Cranes and Pelicans splash about in their lake.

The lodges are raised on stilts so that you can make the best of being on the edge of an award winning zoological park. The lodges are decorated to suit the wildlife theme, more importantly they are clean, the decor is practical and functional and you all get to enjoy the place without worrying about fingerprints and spills.

The interior comprises a spacious lounge with wicker seating and the sofa bed, a TV, Kitchenette with 2 burner hob, microwave oven and a fridge. A double bedroom and shower room are on the ground floor. A wooden staircase leads past African style wall hangings to an open mezzanine with 2 single beds.

You will appreciate the attention to detail from the eco-friendly solar panels for hot water - the kids will appreciate things like the themed crockery. Perhaps the best part though is that you have large glass doors opening onto your veranda with a splendid view across the safari park.

To Do

Obviously visit the park. Either take the Safari Train or take a stroll and spot the lions, tigers and bears (oh my!), monkeys, kangaroos, giraffes, zebras and panthers; the list goes on. There's also a petting area where the kids may play with and feed animals such as the gorgeous miniature mountain goats.

To make it all really come alive, offered exclusively to guest staying in the lodges, is the opportunity to take the Safari Privilege, where small groups of up to 6 go behind the scenes with an English speaking guide to get up close and meet and help feed the animals for the reasonable price of 69 Euros per family. Do book early.

As you have the advantage of your own car you can have your Safari adventure early morning and later in the day, thus avoiding the day trippers whilsy you go off and explore this beautiful area of France either relaxing on a sandy beach, cycling through pretty countryside (yes you can take your own bikes) or take the older children to discover the D-Day landing beaches and Bayeux tapestry.

This is a holiday ticking many boxes being educational and fun and at the same time, in some small way, will help towards saving some animals from extinction.
