Child Friendly Cottages
At Fox Valley Cottages you will find eleven superb child friendly cottages and apartments with the smallest sleeping 2 and the largest sleeping 6 (plus cots). The traditional cottages and apartments have been converted from the old stone granary, barns and stables that were once Lanlawren Manor. Two clusters of holiday cottages are positioned around the sunny old stable yard and the well-maintained gardens. Each self catering property has its own charm and character graded 4 & 5* with all the benefits of mod cons. The cottages have sympathetically converted retaining many original features such as open fire places, stone walls and exposed wooden beams. With well equipped kitchens, DVD players, freeview digital TV you will be provided with home from home comforts.
Holiday Extras for Families
Baby cots, highchairs, stair-gates, baby baths and bed guards are available on request. Should you need a babysitting service, one can be arranged with prior notice. You can also order your groceries online and have them delivered when you arrive to save on that mad dash to the local shops. On your arrival you will be welcomed with a delightful Cornish treat - scones with jam with fresh clotted cream in the fridge.
Child Friendly Facilities
Fox Valley Cottages is the ideal place to let your children run around and explore, with a putting green, trampoline, games room and ride on toys for the toddlers. There are also puzzles and games for you to borrow. A stash of beach kit is available to borrow such as nets for rock pooling, buckets and spades and equipment for a game of football or cricket. A recent addition to the play facilities is Jungle Jim, a multi-activity area for children and includes swings and a slide.
Indoor Swimming Pool
Open daily from 08.00 - 21.00 the indoor swimming pool is a valuable facility for families on holiday with children. The owners have thoughtfully provided a playpen with baby toys in it adjacent to the pool so your little ones can play safely if you want to have a dip. There is a small charge for use of the Sauna and Spa.
Feeding the Animals and Exploring the Wildlife
The kids will love helping Farmer Andy to feed the resident animals and collecting eggs from the chickens each morning. The farm pets are Ant & Dec the guinea pigs and Chuckie & Chestnut the rabbits. At 10 Downing Street you will find a number of chicken and ducks. In the spring time hopefully there will be a few lambs for the children to bottle feed. You will often see Pheasants wandering across the grounds and if you are lucky you might spot the odd buzzard and other birds of prey as well as many other species of wild bird life.
Location and Days Out in Cornwall
A stay at Fox Valley Cottages is ideal for a holiday or short break in Cornwall...be it lazing on the quiet sandy beaches - trekking along the coastal footpaths - strolling around the picturesque fishing ports. Within easy reach of the Eden Project with its tropical biospheres. Bodmin Moor is a short car journey away from Lanlawren. The fishing villages of Looe, Polperro and Fowey are between three and six miles away.
