Haddon Grove Farm Cottages, Derbyshire
B5055 Monyash Road , Nr Over Haddon , Bakewell

Tasteful and charming cottages to relax, unwind and enjoy the surrounding Peak District area
Ideally situated just outside Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District, Haddon Grove consists of a large farmhouse and 10 cottages each sleeping between 2 and 10 people. The cottages are converted from original, 200-year old barns and outbuildings and are still full of character. Many have been recently upgraded to a high luxury standard with solid wood floors, leather furniture and new kitchens and bathrooms. In total, the property has space for up to 54, perfect for families, groups and get-togethers. Dogs are welcome in most of the cottages, and short breaks can be booked throughout the year except during school holidays.
Most of the cottages are situated around a sunny courtyard. Each has its own character and is equipped with everything you need for a thoroughly stress-free holiday. Beyond the farm, the surrounding countryside is amongst the most popular in Britain, a landscape of fields, peaks, dales and dry stone walls. The house overlooks Lathkill Dale nature reserve, and is a perfect base for what the Peak District does best - walks, cycle rides, horse rides and climbs, most of them available from the front gate.
Owners James and Louise Viner have a young family and busy lives, so they are very aware of the need for good quality and very comfortable holiday accommodation in great surroundings, with plenty of things to do not too far away! You may never bother to set foot beyond Haddon Grove Farm as there's so much to do. The property is surrounded by three acres of its own land (with two acres of landscaped gardens), and has a leisure centre with an indoor heated pool (9m long, rectangular and ideal for swimming lengths as well as idle dips). There's also a games room (pool table, table tennis and darts), a children's play area and plenty of outdoor seating with several barbecues available.
All the cottages are fully equipped with good kitchens, many with dishwashers and fridge-freezers. However, if you decide that you would like a break from the cooking then the James and Louise can recommend lots of good places to eat, from cosy pubs to a la carte restaurants. Alternatively you can arrange to have a locally-prepared meal delivered to your door.
Other facilities in the cottages include TVs, DVD players, microwaves, bed linen, board games and books. Towels are available to hire (and there's an on-site laundry). Cots, high chairs and extra children's folding beds are available on request. Pets are welcome in most cottages, and there's obviously no shortage of dog walks from the door.
This is a fabulous area for families, with a massive range of activities to suit all needs and weather conditions. These include Chatsworth House, Derwent, Castleton, Ashbourne, Matlock, Alton Towers, Carsington Water (cycling, watersports and tuition), Haddon Hall, the Toy Museum at Rowsley and Matlock Farm Park.
