Home Farm is everything you could want for a fabulous family holiday. A fantastic location in which to explore both the beautiful North Norfolk coast and the countryside.
Home Farm is also a working farm growing sugar beet and malting barley nestling between the heath and coast on the edge of Weybourne village, away from the coast road. Sally, your host, lives on site with her young family and she is extremely approachable and friendly. Obviously having brought up her family in the area she is the ideal person to advise families of the best beaches and days out in the surrounding area. Just 5 minutes walk away will bring you to the village where you will find a pub, a restaurant, two churches and a shop that all your basic food supplies.
The Holiday Cottages
Weybourne holiday cottages at Home Farm are traditional, North Norfolk brick and flint, cottages and are available for short breaks (in low season) and week-long stays throughout the year. They are furnished to be comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for a good self-catering holiday. The cottages include all the usual facilities, are non-smoking and unused by pets. All beds are made up for your arrival and towels are provided for each guest.
Local information, maps, videos, books, magazines, puzzles, and games are there to be used at your leisure. Cots, highchairs, fireguards and stair gates are provided if requested AND are free of charge.
Family Friendly Facilities
The luxury indoor heated swimming pool is a welcome addition to Home Farm as it provides endless entertainment all year round for families with kids. Plans are afoot to upgrade and improve the existing games room which already houses a pool table and table tennis. The children's outdoor play area is located behind the swimming pool and has spacious grounds with climbing frame, swings & picnic tables. There is also a very chic playhouse with a nearby play track for little ones to push prams or tractors around. Dads and Mums can read a paper or book sat at the picnic table whilst keeping an eye on little ones playing. You can also hear the toot of the nearby steam railway in the distance. There is also a laundry room and bike store.
Things to do and Places for Families to visit in Norfolk
Being a coastal village the sea is only a 10 minute walk away from the cottages. This is not a bathing beach due to the deep water, but there are plenty of pebbles to collect and it is a great spot to watch the local fishermen bring back their catch of the day. On the edge of Weybourne, just 10 minutes walk from Home Farm, is a collection of 16 working tanks and over 3000 other military exhibits - the Muckleburgh Military Museum. This is a good half a day out for all generations, with a lot of local history too.
The places to visit are endless for families young and old. The best days out are the free ones and just a few minutes in the car are the sandy beaches at Sheringham, West Runton and Cromer. Slightly further afield you can enjoy the wide expanse of beaches at Holkham and Wells. In the other direction enjoy the simple pleasures like crabbing on Blakeney quay or take a trip to see the seals at Blacken Point.
Or maybe take a train ride on the North Norfolk Railway or Bure Valley Railway. Hire a boat on the North Norfolk Broads, visit the Dinosaur Park or The Norfolk Shire Horse Centre with its riding school, or get lost in the Priory Maze and Gardens at Sheringham followed by tea in its tearooms.
