This superb luxury getaway is a fab place for you all to explore the wonders of nature, the stunning beaches and experience the enchanting Thai culture.
From the minute we were driven through the guarded entrance this place looked really impressive and we knew that we were in for a real treat. Up a very steep and windy road we went, the grounds really were something else as we were surrounded by nothing but tranquil rainforest. ‘Wow' was our first impression and we hadn't yet seen what was to come!
We pulled up outside our amazing villa and were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. An ice cold flannel and refreshing fruit drinks were kindly given along with a tour around the villa. After being made to feel more than welcome we were then left to our own devices and couldn't wait to settle in and explore this fabulous resort.
The villas themselves are low-rise southern Thai style buildings and are pleasant to look at complimenting rather than competing with the surroundings. They are very well spaced away from one another so you get total privacy, which is great if the children want to make some noise!.
On the inside, the villas are spacious with a light and airy feel and are very well designed, split into two separate buildings - one of which had the kitchen and lounging area with TV, DVD player and sound system (wifi was also available throughout the resort). The other building had a very generous sized bedroom with huge four poster bed, off this led the bathroom which was equally as well sized with his and her sinks. There is plenty of room for an extra bed and cots are available too
Dividing the two buildings much to our surprise was our very own infinity edge pool, outdoor lounge bed , sun terrace and eating area. I would just add here to keep a close eye on the young ones around the infinity pool. As you can imagine being up on a hill we had a view to die for, there was jungle whichever way you looked and the beautiful bay below was just waiting for us.
Family accommodation for older children is best suited to the 2 bed or 3 bed villas, or the Pavilion suites. These have separate bedrooms and living areas as well as decking, garden areas as magnificent views. Children under 12 sleep and eat for free here (up to 2 children per family).
The service here is excellent and as with the gentle nature of the Thai people, children are made to feel most welcome. There is a children's menu and plenty for them to do with the safe and clean private beach right on your door step. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us, they really couldn't have been more helpful.
Later that afternoon we decided to go for a wonder and see what else the resort had to offer. The road on the island splits the resort, one side being the villas up in the hills and the other being the resort that leads down onto the beach, all 900 metres of golden sand. Here you can relax and dine at local restaurants giving a bit more variety to your stay and the chance to support other local businesses.
The resort has a complimentary golf buggy service around the resort and along the beach so this is great if your little ones (or yourselves) become weary. One evening the driver informed us of the cheeky monkeys that live there have a liking to the complimentary cookies so keep all doors locked, this made us laugh as it reminded us where you actually are and what's around you, Jungle! This is a fabulous setting for kids to understand all about nature and appreciate the little things such as the crabs, Lizards and croaking frogs at night. There are water sports too on the beach.
