An absolute gem of a place to provide you with a fun packed holiday and kids who won't want to go home.

Set in idyllic Cornish countryside, Polean Farm offers seven charming, quality holiday cottages just two miles from the coast that can accommodate up to a maximum of 8 people. Set in beautiful rolling countryside, much of which is a wildlife haven, these spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated cottages are set around a pretty courtyard. On the farm, children will enjoy the adventure playground and indoor play room along with the toy tractors that they can ride around the courtyard. But for many the best bit of all is to help with the daily feeding of the animals. Visitors to Polean Farm may also enjoy use of an indoor swimming pool (extra charge) just 2 miles away.

Your children will love to help get the guinea pigs out of their cages, bottle feed the lambs and hand feed the pigmy goats and chickens. After feeding the animals there is the egg collection from the chickens and the children can carry them home for breakfast. Also following the animal feeding, there are free rides on Noah the pony (for those aged six and under) and rides on Humbug (for older children) no matter what the season. Check out the ride around the farm in the barrel train, pulled by a very cute little red tractor - the children are never going to want to leave!

And let's not forget what is going to make the grown ups happy - the beautiful accommodation. All of the cottages are full of character as they have been converted from the original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century. They have just recently been completely updated with new bedding, rugs, leather suites and large flat screen TV's & DVD players. All kitchens are well equipped with oven and hob, microwave, fridge or fridge freezer (some also have dishwasher ). There is access to a free DVD library with a good selection of grown up films and many children's favourites. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are all included together with cots, highchairs and stair gates (on request). Guests have the use of the shared laundry room. Well behaved dogs are welcome in some cottages.

Within walking distance there is a quaint little fishing village, two good food shops, village pub and restaurant. Charming Looe (4 miles) boasts sandy beaches, good shops, galleries and restaurants and a bustling quayside. Sailing, fishing, surfing and golf are all easily accessible as are the Eden Project and numerous great houses and gardens. The nearby Monkey sanctuary is well worth a visit as is Charlestown Harbour, a 'working' 18th century port.

Polean Farm offers the excellent option of being able to shop online and have your shopping delivered to the cottage - courtesy of Tesco OR by using a local service courtesy of Food4myholiday - have local quality food delivered to your cottage (and unpacked for you before you arrive). A babysitting service can also be arranged.

This place is wonderful! Perfect for families with young kids. Animal feeding, pony rides, tractor rides, outdoor and indoor play areas and a wonderful location in breathtaking countryside. Not far from good family beaches - what more could you want! We're going back again this year.

Just got back from a week's holiday at Waggoner's Cottage on Polean Farm. My husband and I took our 2 year old twins there and it was absolutely fantastic! The kids LOVED the daily animal feeding (especially bottle feeding the newbron lambs) and the rides on the tractor barrel train. They also really enjoyed the rides on the farm's Shetland pony "Noah". The farmer was so good with the children and really helped to make the experience and enjoyable one. The facilities for the children (outdoor and indoor play areas) were great and the cottage itself was very comfortable (the cream tea that we found on our arrival to the cottage was a welcome surprise!) Many places say they cater for children but few truly do... Polean Farm was fantastic and we wouldn't hesitate to reccommend it to other families :-)

Rosebud is a delightful, beamed cottage with countryside views. The sitting room is cosy, with rugs on a slate floor, wood burning stove and doors to a private patio with garden furniture and use of a barbeque. The sitting room also has a 32" LCD TV, DVD player and a freeview box. There is a spacious fitted kitchen with a dishwasher and a large dining table.

On the first floor is a double bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite shower room/W.C. There are also two twin bedded rooms which share the use of a seperate bathroom/W.C. The cottage has views over the countryside and also of the courtyard to the front.

Little Owls

Named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building, and that can sometimes be heard at night, Little Owls is a modern barn conversion, set in its own private lawned garden where a decked patio with garden furniture and barbeque offers glorious views. Little Owls stands apart from the farm house and the other cottages at the farm, but has access from the garden into the children’s play areas. Little Owls is approached by its own gravelled drive and has parking for several cars.

The cottage has three bedrooms on the ground floor, each with its own bathroom or shower-room. Upstairs, the separate fully fitted kitchen is ideal for family breakfasts, and in the lounge/dining area, furnished with sumptuous brown leather sofas and a cosy wood-burner, the dining area is perfect for relaxed evening meals.
