However, it’s the relaxed friendliness of the staff, along with the stunning location and gorgeous interiors that will convince you that you have landed somewhere special. Fingals is not your average child-friendly hotel; do visit knowing that you couldn’t be any further away from the ‘corporate experience’ that you might encounter; this is family holiday quirkiness at it's best. Fingals really might be your home from home – it’s relaxed, refined and real. Prepare to flop on arrival and completely switch off and enjoy your surroundings, which are stunning. The hotel is set up a country lane practically in the middle of nowhere and when we arrived was in a sun trap. I don’t want to build up your hopes as it is of course in Devon, and Devon is so green due to our British weather, but I would imagine even during the bleak mid-winter there will be warmth here.
