About Tay Views - a Child-Friendly Self-Catering Apartment

Clean, fresh and beautifully presented, Tay Views is an immaculately presented two bedroom first floor apartment with lovely views across the River Tay. It's the perfect place to come back to after a day out exploring the shops, museums, galleries, sports centre, leisure pools, kids play barn (Noah’s Ark) or just a walk along the Tay that Perth itself has to offer. Close by is Scone Palace (pronounced Scoon as in spoon) where the ancient kings of Scotland were crowned on the Stone of Destiny..

Gary, Catherine and the girls visited:

Perth is the ancient capital of Scotland where kings were crowned and battles fought. Today it provides the ideal location as a base to explore both the local area and further afield.

Tay Views is an immaculately presented luxurious two bedroom first floor apartment located in the centre of Perth overlooking the river Tay. Four star rated by Visit Scotland it's less than two minutes walk from the centre of Perth yet, with that outlook over the river, has a tranquillity to it you wouldn't necessarily expect.

There's no parking attached to the property itself but reasonable car parking within a minutes walk if you're there during the day and street parking outside which at night and on Sunday's is free.

Accommodation

All rooms are accessed off a central hall. The master bedroom has a double bed with twin beds in the other smaller room. Both rooms have mirrored wardrobes and chest of drawers with ample storage space (there's extra storage for cases etc in the stairwell). The spacious lounge/dining area can seat four around the dining table (which extends/compacts as required) and has two large and very comfy leather settees. There's a flat screen TV and DVD player along with mini stereo with iPod/phone connector. There's wi-fi throughout too.

The galley kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need including plastic cups, plates etc. It was a pleasure doing the dishes (for once!) with the view from the sink over the Tay. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower with towel warming rail (love warmed towels). Non slip bathmat supplied.

What to do?

Clean, fresh and beautifully presented, Tay Views was a pleasure to come back to after a day out exploring the shops, museums, galleries, sports centre, leisure pools, kids play barn (Noah's Ark) or just a walk along the Tay that Perth itself has to offer. Close by is Scone Palace (pronounced Scoon as in spoon) where the ancient kings of Scotland were crowned on the Stone of Destiny. Further afield to the south you are less than an hour away from Stirling and its famous Castle and just over an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow with all there is to see there (Edinburgh Castle has the Stone of Destiny on display). Half an hours' drive to the east there's Dundee where you can discover Antarctica with Captain Scott on board RRS Discovery, visit the science museum or find about the Jute industry at the Verdant Works. To the north and west the Highlands.

There's much much more in the local area that's all detailed in two encyclopaedic sized folders that Joanne (the owner) has put together for guests. Perfect for browsing through of an evening to plan your next day out.

Essentials

There's Tesco Xtra & Asda a few minutes drive from the flat for all your essential supplies and food. If you fancy eating out there's a plethora of family friendly restaurants only a few minutes walk away. Joanne knows the city well and is happy to recommend.

It's the little things that make this place special. If your kids are young there'll be no breakable items within reach and kids character duvet covers on the bed with different coloured towels if you'd like. A warm welcome when you arrive and a cuppa if you need it after your journey make this a warm and welcoming place to explore from and return home to weary but happy.

Away with the Kids is delighted to recommend Tay Views to you.
