About The Lookout at The Rosevine
Seaside chic with oodles of child-friendly niceties…
A chic retreat for free-roaming kids, with oodles of child-friendly niceties, The Lookout is a perfect family holiday destination. Set within the grounds of The Rosevine, a small and relaxed family-friendly boutique all suite hotel, this super stylish coastal self catering cottage, on the Roseland peninsula in Cornwall, is pebble hurling distance from a beautiful sandy beach. The Lookout has four gorgeous bedrooms, a fabulous kids playroom and laid back open plan living areas. The rooms lead out to the deck and private garden with a BBQ for simply enjoying your space, and if you simply don't want to do anything you have the luxury of The Rosevine’s facilities, including the fab restaurant, children's play areas and indoor heated pool.
We love The Rosevine and all that it stands for - a chic retreat with free-roaming kids and a chilled out vibe that Tim and Hazel seemingly create efortlessly. The real joy though is the gift to come and go as all accommodation offers the facility to cater in your own studio/apartment - hence the luxury of a fabulous restaurant - a gorgeous grown-up lounge - the bestest kids playroom - serious hotel facilities with the luxury of being able to rustle up a simple meal should the need arise. And how many times have you wished to be able to do that during low sugar melt-down?
The Rosevine has now added to the lure and offers The Lookout - a beautifully presented self-catering property in the grounds of the big house and so with all the lovely frills on tap - including access to their fab indoor pool and wonderful garden. The Lookout has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and will sleep up to four adults and four children. The private cottage garden and decked terrace offers privacy outdoors to enjoy the sun and dine al fresco - the comfortable and beautifully simple interior, with white walls and a mix of slate, sea grass and painted wooden floors offers seaside chic that you always want to emanate - it just doesn't look so great in Manchester!?!
The lovely open plan kitchen/living area makes it easy to giggle over tea in the morning, G & Ts in the afternoon and a glass of wine at night! For those that don't drink - it's the perfect space to talk incessantly, watch the kids play outdoors and achieve the holy grail of all holiday requirements - relaxation! The wood-burning stove takes care of chilly times - the French doors ensure you maximise on the fresh air.
The Lookout offers a playroom for the kids to escape to - mine always relish their own space - here they will find a chalkboard wall, toys and games - there's also a TV room for zoning out times. For those of you with little ones unpack your car - highchairs, cots, baby bedding and all other necessities are provided - Tim and Hazel have kids - they are used to us lot bowling up in a state of despair due to forgotten essentials - they will sort it if they haven't got it. Baby monitors work all over the house so you can feel relaxed and safe if you choose to have a bit of grown up time in the dining room.
The layout is such that it's perfect to bring along the grandparents - or some help if you really want. Personally it's ideal for me and my little sis to get together with our kids and just enjoy being one big happy family (in the main!).
Practically home comforts include a dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and an iPod docking station - and if cooking and washing up is not on your agenda then the bistro in the big house will welcome you and the kids for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner!
Included are bathroom towels and toiletries, beach towels and starter supplies of store cupboard ingredients and cleaning. As enticing as the idea may be if you don't fancy being totally cut off from the 'real' world there is free Internet access.
As mentioned above the whole family also has access to the indoor swimming pool at the Rosevine, so there's no excuse for bored anybodies - even during more unkind weather. The garden has space to explore and things to occupy such as the (simple) lawn which is great for toddlers - the lower field is where they will find the trampoline, climbing frame with rope ladders and horse swing, table tennis and new best friends. The tub outside the front door is full of buckets, spades and fishing nets for you to help yourselves.
Beyond The Lookout and the grounds of The Rosevine you will find plenty to do - the National Trust beach is a stone's throw away, there are picturesque villages to hunt down treasures, fine expanses of glorious countryside and beaches galore. It's a joy of a place and you will want to go back!
