All cottages are child friendly with many of them being on one level, but where there are stairs - stair gates are provided, not to mention good quality, full sized wooden cots, highchairs, bedguards and blackout blinds. All benefit from central heating with many having additional log fires. The attention to detail in the cottages has been carefully considered from the high standard of décor to the fully equipped kitchen including your own washer/dryer. There is also plastic tumblers and bowls for stress free family meals! A baby sitting service can be arranged.
However, for many children the undoubted highlight of their holiday will be the daily animal feeding. At 9 a.m. each morning, Farmer Tim, takes whoever's willing - kids ,parents, grandparents - to bottle feed the lambs , give the goats and hens their breakfast, and then rounds off the ritual by lifting the hatch of the henhouse to see how many eggs the hens have laid. There is also Toby the pony who gives rides to the children twice a week straight after animal feeding.
Another excellent facility is a large indoor heated swimming pool complete with children's play equipment and stunning views over the Fowey valley that is open from 6.30am until 10 pm every day. For your own peace of mind the security access system makes it impossible for children to enter unattended. The indoor soft play room is ideal for children from 12 months to 12 years. The vinyl covered foam padded floor and walls make it extremely safe . Another big hit is the outdoor adventure play area which has been designed for older children. It has various swings, slides, rope net ladders, bridges and monkey bars. And for those with endless energy you can bounce yourself out on the huge trampoline with safety enclosure. The well-heated games room which was converted from an old barn has table tennis, snooker and table football plus a fantastic sandpit with climbing frame for toddlers. All the children's facilities are no more than two minutes walk from your cottage, but far enough away from the cottage gardens to preserve your peace & tranquillity. What could be better!
Children also love riding their bikes around the cottages and there's undercover storage on site. So feel free to bring your bikes along, or you can hire them from the cycle trails. The owners are a wealth of information and as keen walkers they are able to provide you with all the information on the best pushchair friendly walks in the area from sheltered wooded valleys to spectacular coastline and wild open moorland. You can even walk from your front door around our award winning Farm Trail, which in turn links up with a public footpath to the river and onto the beautiful creekside village of Lerryn.
You don't even have to cook much if you don't choose to as there is a mini shop on site stocked with home-made frozen dishes and good-quality local produce. However, should you decide to eat out, Lostwithiel and Fowey have some excellent restaurants and pubs whilst Rick Stein's restaurant is only 40 minutes away!
These truly exceptional cottages are situated amongst beautiful countryside yet are only 20 minutes from beautiful beaches and coastline, 15 minutes from the Eden project (with its giant tropically heated bubbles it's the perfect bad-weather attraction) and 10 minutes from Cornwall's top National Trust property (Lanhydrock).
