Wheatacre Hall Barns are located on a working dairy and arable farm and a stay in these wonderful barns provides you with everything you could want for the perfect family holiday in the country. The farm is situated in an attractive part of South Norfolk surrounded by the River Waveney.
The beautiful rural location makes it a fantastic base to explore the glorious Norfolk/Suffolk coastline and the renowned Norfolk Broads. With easy access to the farmland and surroundings where coarse fishing and farm walks, cycling and bird watching as well as the shared enjoyment of a hot tub and games room combine to make Wheatacre Hall Barns the perfect retreat for families of all ages in which to relax and unwind.
The Child Friendly Cottages
Wheatacre Hall Barns consist of eight luxurious converted barns in the south Norfolk countryside. Retaining many of their original features the barns have been tastefully restored with very comfortable interiors and many modern luxury touches. Six are three bedroom holiday cottages with open plan beamed sitting/ dining area and gorgeous well equipped kitchens, sleeping a family of 6-7 people plus cots. The newest additions to Wheatacre are two recently converted one bedroom barns. Furnished to a high standard with luxurious spa baths; these provide the perfect space for grandparents to tag along or for parents with a baby. All of the holiday cottages are equipped with everything you could need and boast the latest mod cons. Cots, highchairs and a stair-gate is available upon request. For those of you who need to stay in touch with the outside world there is wireless internet connection available in each holiday cottage.
On the Farm
The farm itself is in a quiet location surrounded by wildlife and beautiful views. The owners are more than happy to arrange a guided tour for younger guests to visit the dairy, meet the calves and learn where their pint of milk comes from. They make great efforts to show children how they care for their animals and look after their surroundings.
It is worth noting there is also an unfenced pond so little ones do need keeping an eye on.
In the games room you will find pool, table tennis, table football and a large projector screen with music and sports; the perfect spot for a little friendly competition between family members or just to chill out and watch the big screen.
Or if you're keen to lose a few pounds on holiday the recently opened Fitness Barn will help achieve your goal with a rowing machine, cross trainer and other equipment; a fantastic addition to enhance your stay at Wheatacre.
A major bonus for frazzled parents at Wheatacre is the use of a private and peaceful Hot Tub. It is the ideal place to relax and soak away the stress of everyday life. Sessions may be pre-booked to allow sole use during your stay. The hot tub is also enclosed to maximise usage day or night, rain or shine.
Facilities for the Children
Indoors the Soft Play Barn for younger guests provides a welcome distraction whilst tea is being prepared with a comfortable area for parents to watch their children at play. Or little ones can run of steam, enjoy ball games or fly a kite outside on the large grassed area. A selection of games, books, video's and DVD's can be loaned from the office.
Holiday Extras
Swimming is available for guests of Wheatacre Hall Barns free of charge at Waveney River Centre which is located approx. 1 ½ miles from the barns which is open 7 days a week 8am - 7 pm.
Time spent on holiday is precious so take advantage of having your shopping delivered ready in your cottage for your arrival with a selection of locally sourced foods. Also a home cooked meal service is thoughtfully provided to give worn out parents the opportunity to hang up the chef's hat for the night and enjoy a delicious meal in the comfort of your own cottage.

Location and things to do in Norfolk/ Suffolk
Wheatacre has an array of beautiful country walks right on the doorstep and off road tracks provide traffic free cycle rides for the family. Cycle storage is available on the farm and encourages families to leave their car behind and enjoy the local surroundings.
Wheatacre is a great location in which to explore Norfolk and Suffolk with a wide variety of nearby family attractions just a short hop away. One such place is Fritton Lake Country Park which is a great day out for all the family. This idyllic waterside location boasts fabulous lakeside/woodland walks, boating on the lake, golf, nature trails as well as an indoor activity centre (great for rainy days) and an extensive play area (including a Viking fort!) The Cathedral city of Norwich is just 15 miles away, with a fabulous array of shops, bars and restaurants.
The nearest little town is Beccles, known as the gateway of the southern broads, is a picturesque little place with good amenities including a butchers, coffee shop, and a delicatessen. Tesco and Morrisons are a short drive away too.
The coastline is only a short trip away with beautiful sandy beaches, and all the fun of the seaside whilst the elegant and popular resort of Southwold beckons, or you could hire a boat for the day and explore the Norfolk Broads.
