Set within the beautiful valley of the River Lune between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Park. Woodclose is a quiet and serene place, set within nine acres providing a unique holiday base in an area of outstanding natural beauty and welcomes touring caravans, motor homes, tents even Wigwams which are available for hire on site. Within a short walking distance from the Park you will find yourself beside the River Lune and the three ribbed medieval arches of Devil’s Bridge, linked to legend in local tales. Conservation – They continue to be awarded 5-star status and the highest conservation accolade- Gold- by the David Bellamy Conservation Awards. Assisted by local nature groups and holidaymakers themselves, David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling. Helping visitors to understand conservation is also considered a qualifying feature. Come and see the wildlife corner which gives details of all the flora and fauna you might expect to see in and around the Park. They even have a swallow webcam for when their babies are in residence.

Woodclose Park- Reception, Information, Shop and Picnic Area
Entering through the main gate, follow the left hand side road around the park following signs for reception. The Reception/Shop is open daily during season and stocks a variety of local produce as well as general provisions, newspapers, games, toys, gifts, barbeque equipment, caravan and camping accessories. They also sell and exchange calor gas and arrange delivery. You will also find a wide range of helpful tourist information- they aim to provide all the essentials for an enjoyable holiday. A public payphone and internet access is available at the main reception block.
Onsite there are excellent toilet facilities, including showers. No charge is made for hot water and hair dryers for the ladies are available for a small charge. There is a laundry room with tumble dryer, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Calor Gas, fresh milk and other local produce is available from our on- site shop. There is a safe play area for children and dogs are allowed on-site provided that they are kept under close control and are exercised off the Park at all times. Premium Mountain Bike Hire is also available onsite with accessories provided, helmet, pump, route instructions, handle bar bag, lock and key.

The River Lune & Devil's Bridge
Within a ½ mile walk from the park you will find yourself beside the beautiful River Lune and the three ribbed medieval arches of Devil's Bridge. The origin of the bridge is obscure, but it has given rise to a legend that it was built by the devil in a pact with an elderly lady. Picnicking, walking and playing by the riverbank are a lovely way to spend the day. If you would like to fish, visitor's permits and licences are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Kirkby Lonsdale.
½ mile from the site is the picturesque market town of Kirkby Lonsdale where there is plenty to see and do. John Ruskin, penned these words some hundred years ago about the valley and these ring true to this day "...the valley of the Lune at Kirkby Lonsdale is one of the loveliest scenes in England, therefore in the world. Whatever moorland, hill and sweet river, and English forest foliage can be at their best is gathered there; and chiefly seen from the steep bank, which falls to the streamside from the upper part of the town itself ". Enjoy one of the organised walks around town which take place during the summer and can be pre-booked at the Reception or if you would like longer walks, maps can be found either in Reception or in the Tourist Information Centre on Main Street. With plenty of specialist shops and a good selection of tea-rooms, restaurants and pubs, Kirkby Lonsdale is definitely not to be missed.
