Chef Kalum Abdul, (known as Callum) and his cousin Iqbal opened The Eastern Eye in 1987, after Kalum had completed four year's training under four master chefs and gained seven year's experience running restaurants. A wide range of vegetarian dishes are on offer, such as Vegetable Kushom, Begun Chom Chom Special and Polak Mushroom-Panier Purée. Meat-eaters can enjoy Beef Matak or Chicken Badam Makancy, whilst for fish lovers Hargoza-Jheenga Massalla Special is recommended.

The restaurant only opens at lunchtime by arrangement, but the 6pm evening opening allows an early evening family meal, which might taste even nicer knowing of your special Away with the Kids discount.
