About the owners

Robert & Kathryn

We run our beautiful site with our little helpers Daisy and Olive. Our love of nature and the outdoors brought us to this beautiful part of France in 2009.

Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • For lake swimming try Champagnac-le Vieux or La Chaise Dieu - both have swimming areas and a lifeguard during the summer.

  • Visit Clermont Ferrand for the UNESCO world heritage Gothic Cathedral, antique shops and galleries.

  • Canoeing is great fun for all the family and there are routes that take from as little as 1 hour to whole days with Canoe France.

  • Donkey trekking is a wonderful way to spend a morning - pack a picnic and explore some of the beautiful surroundings.

  • Super Besse has skiing in winter, toboggans in summer, as well as spa treatments.

  • Puy de Dome is one of the highest peaks in this (dormant!) volcanic area, and is just 1.5 hrs from the site.
