Idyllic cottage set within a 75 acre nature reserve, only minutes from the Dorset Jurassic Coast. It's a great place to get the children acquainted with the great outdoors, plenty of things to discover on site and then head to the coast and hunt for fossils.

About the owners

Chantal and Rob

Listed since December 2015

We are a family of four. Rob runs the conservation aspect of Hogchester. Chantal is an artist and runs an art residency programme at Hogchester. We have two teenage children.

Tips from the owners

Local things to do, places to eat and attractions not to be missed.

  • Go on a fossil hunt on Charmouth Beach (borrow the hammers!) or sign up to a guided walk.

  • Visit Lyme Regis - a beautiful beach and town.

  • Try a campfire experience one evening - hot chocolate, sparklers and fireside storytelling.

  • Learn about the local area at the Dinosaur Museum and the friendly Aquarium in Lyme Regis.

  • Go on a fishing trip in Lyme or beautiful Beer to catch mackerel for your dinner.

  • Book lunch at The Old Dairy Kitchen at nearby Trill farm.
