There is the perfect house for every family at Greenwood Grange. Smaller one or two bed houses suit young families or couples, while the bigger Durbaville and Henchard suit larger groups and multiple families enjoying a holiday together. Most of the cottages are pet friendly, and four of the 17 have a luxury hot tub for relaxing evenings under the stars.

All the uniquely decorated properties have beautiful outside space and access to the shared courtyard for al fresco eating, or letting the kids run wild within view.

Eat

All of the properties are self catering with well equipped kitchens including a gas-fired range cooker, fridges and freezers, dishwasher and washer dryer. The kitchen garden is available for guests to pick whatever is in season. You can also collect and enjoy fresh eggs from the chickens everyday.

For special occasions or a night off cooking, there are lots of brilliant local pubs and restaurants nearby. Alternatively, on site catering can be arranged through the brilliant staff.

Activities

There are acres of ground for the children to explore, football nets, trampoline, willow dens, areas to walk and explore, a play yurt which is fully equipped for toddlers, pre-school and infant school children. The indoor games room features a pool table, bar billiards, table tennis, table football and there's a room entirely dedicated to younger children with toys, arts and crafts.

On sunny days you can enjoy a game of tennis on one of the two tennis courts on site. There is outdoor play equipment including a trampoline, swings trim trail and soft play. During the school holidays staff run a fantastic kids’ gardening club and art and craft sessions.

The natural beauty of Dorset will keep you busy, Lower Brockhampton, a pretty village - find Thomas Hardy school, Cerne Abbas - the giant carved into the countryside, Abbotsbury Swannery, miles of magnificent coastline and beaches, Farmer Palmers for more organised activity, Swanage for a traditional seaside town, Corfe Castle for some history and quaint village. All within easy reach from Greenwood Grange.

The properties have varying levels of accessibility. Some single story cottages may be suitable for those with limited mobility, but do feature step up access or single steps inside. Access around the site itself is predominantly through gravel or paved pathways.

Situated just off the A35 to the East of Dorchester in the hamlet of Higher Bockhampton. Closest airports are Bournemouth (45 mins) Southampton or Bristol (90 mins).

By Air

By Rail

The nearest railway stations are Dorchester South and West. From London Waterloo, direct trains arrive at Dorchester South (the main station) within 2 and a half hours. Taxis are available at the station. There is no public transport to Greenwood Grange.

Owner recommendations

We are located on the doorstep of Thorncombe Woods – 140 hectares of ancient woodland which is well worth an explore.
Farmer Palmers is always popular with guests with younger children. You can feed the animals, take a tractor ride, indoor soft play also available.
Take a ride on the steam train between Corfe castle and Swanage.
Weymouth is our nearest sandy beach – wander round the fishing port to see the boats come in at the end of the day.
