About Loch Ness Glamping

As seen on Channel 4's "Four in a Bed", Loch Ness Glamping is set within the backdrop of the Great Glen and surrounded by Scottish Highlands. Embrace the raw wilderness of camping and combine it with a little luxury. Offering a choice of accomodation, you can choose to stay in one of the Armadilla Pods or in The Stables. Children (and adults alike) can enjoy the Trampoline, Tree House / Slide, Horse Swing or Hammocks. Cook in the indoor BBQ or have a delivery to your door. The ultimate in getting away from it all and having a real family adventure!

Glamour Camping = Glamping

Loch Ness Glamping is a family run business, set in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, near the world-famous Loch Ness. Budget-priced like a hostel but with the facilities of a hotel or bed and breakfast, the aim is to provide a camping experience fit for everyone, whilst giving you an extra helping of glamour.

The Accommodation

Clad in larch to blend in with the stunning landscape of Glenurquhart, the custom-built wooden eco-pods are ensuite equipped (shower and toilet), whilst also offering a fridge, tea-making facilities and your own LCD TV with DVD. Gone are the days of chilly feet whilst camping, each pod is fitted with under floor heating as well.

There are a total of six pods nestled between the rolling hills of the Glen with each having its own barbeque pit and area. The pods are also equipped with their own front decks, so you can sit back, eat, drink and take in the Scottish wilderness.

Two of the pods are unique in what they offer. They are called the Armadilla Max’s. What makes them so special? Their size. Both these are bigger and have a higher specification than their other pod counterparts. Perfect for those extra special occasions. It is possible to pair some of the pods together for a family of four or the pods take a roll up mattress for an extra child.

If glamping isnt for you, there is also one large family suite known as The Stables. An up-market suite set adjacent to the glamping site. With your own barbeque area, patio and infrared sauna.

Eating in or Out

There is also a private BBQ and fire pit for each Armadilla and lodge as well as a shared covered eating area and indoor BBQ facility (in its own little house!). The Stables have their own private under cover eating area. There is a lit, under cover washing-up area, ample parking … and some friendly neighbours to help entertain you; granted, they are Highland cows, Shetland sheep and some very human-like horses – but what better way to be welcomed into the stunning Great Glen?

Loch Ness Glamping have their own organic home reared meat available to purchase as well as home grown salad and vegetable options in season. Breakfast can be delivered to your door (Continental breakfast is £4.50 or a full cooked breakfast of organic local eggs, bacon, vine tomatoes, mushrooms, sausage and haggis, toast, jam/marmalade and apple/orange juice for £7.50 or there are vegetarian/vegan options). Delicious home-made cakes can be bought to.

There is a wonderful cafe that offers healthy vegan and Vegetarian food as well as meat, and can also do a private dinner for 8 plus people if you come as a group.

The village takeaway will deliver food to your door. There are seven restaurants in the village, two of which offer a free pick up and return service. One of these – Cobbs Restaurant – has a great view of loch ness. Book your free transport yourself, or we can arrange it for you on request.

There is a small supermarket in the village, open until 10pm for all your basic food.

For the Kids

Children (and pets) are very welcome at Loch Ness Glamping. There are ample grounds providing a stage for many activities, from football to rounders. Many other activities and equipment are also provided, from a trampoline to a small treehouse, equipped with a slide and swings, and hammocks. The cows can be brushed and fed and the sheep love cuddles (just ask the owners)

New to 2018, there is a table tennis and chess room. Children will love the space, boasting river frontage and many walks that the whole family (even your dogs!) will love. Sonia and Graham at Loch Ness Glamping have created a short river walk with native animals hidden amongst the trees for your children to find, while you sit back and relax with a glass of wine and BBQ by the river.

Around and About

Drumnadrochit is the hub for the Loch Ness Monster Exhibitions. You can book cruises to visit the famous waters here and take a visit to Urquhart castle, which is situated on the shoreline of Loch Ness, transporting you back to the Medieval era.

The surrounding area is full of Historic castles and Battle Fields, not to mention plenty of cheap Golf Courses.

Spend the day at Boots N Paddles – a local award winning outdoor pursuits company

Visit Inverness or go on a guided highland walk or tour.

Loch Ness Glamping is just a short drive away from the capital of the Highlands, Inverness. And if you drive a bit further you will meet the Cairngorm mountains, which offers excellent walking, snowboarding and skiing opportunities to enhance your experience of glamping in the Scottish Highlands.
