About Scafell Cottage sleeps 10

This captivating Lakeland retreat provides self catering accommodation for a family get-together or special occasion

Scafell Cottage is the largest of seven holiday cottages located on Bridge End Farm in the Lake District. It is a 500 year old historic cottage sleeping 10 and it's ideal for larger families or two families wishing to share. For such a spacious cottage is extremely homely and exudes charm and character. The cottages are located in the Eskdale Valley, a beautiful and tranquil corner of the Lake District. For families, there are innumerable activities and adventures, from taking a trip on the Eskdale and Ravenglass Narrow Gauge Steam Railway, mountain biking or rock climbing, to fishing or even jumping into the Whillan Beck or River Esk and it’s rock pools for a quick dip.

The cottage itself has an open plan living are and entrance with plenty of space for children to play and adults to sprawl out after a day out exploring the fells. The dining area can sit up to 16 and the kitchen leads out to our riverside paddock, in which you can relax with a BBQ or afternoon tea amongst the superb fell views.

There are four bedrooms and three brand newly fitted bathrooms. Two bedrooms are double bedrooms with king size beds and en suite bathrooms, one is situated on the ground floor making it suitable for the elderly or those with limited mobility. Upstairs there is a triple and a twin bedroom up a separate staircase to the other double bedroom. We have taken care to tastefully preserve all the original features of the cottage, including the original oak beams and pink granite stone walls, whilst also ensuring all our guests experience every home from home comfort, such as full Sky TV, free WiFi and plenty of books, games and DVDs to choose from.
